Used 2024 Kia Sorento for Sale nearLondon, ON

How much does the 2024 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 10.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 332 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento a good car?

The 2024 Kia Sorento earns an 8.7/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It fits well if you want a value-focused family SUV that gives you a standard third row without stepping up to a larger, pricier three-row model. The 2024 refresh also brings a more upscale look, easier-to-use tech, and more safety equipment.

The main trade-offs are the cramped third row and the underwhelming base engine. Top trims can also get pricey, which can erode the Sorento’s value advantage if you shop near the top of the range.

33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento reliable?

The 2024 Kia Sorento is positioned as a practical, family-friendly SUV with a strong safety focus and a broad feature set. Its updated systems and standard driver-assistance equipment point to a vehicle designed to be easy to live with and well equipped for daily use.

Its base gas engine is described as overmatched by the Sorento’s heft, while the turbocharged version is more satisfying and better suited to the vehicle’s size. The updated software and standard wireless smartphone connectivity also support a more modern ownership experience.

Kia’s revised safety systems are described as generally performing very well, though foul weather can interfere with some sensors. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about choosing the right trim and powertrain than worrying about a fundamentally weak package.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Sorento?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sorento’s trims in Canada are LX, EX, the rugged-looking X-Line, X-Line Limited, and the new X-Pro. The base models don’t get all the fixings, while the X-Line and X-Pro add more aggressive styling and a more upscale cabin feel.
• Powertrain: The base 2.5-litre four-cylinder makes 191 horsepower and is described as overmatched by the Sorento’s heft. EX and higher models use a turbocharged 2.5-litre with 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, which feels much more lively.
• Safety package: Kia’s standard driver-assistance features include adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-following and lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert with emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Navigation-based adaptive cruise control and Highway Driving Assist are available, while Highway Driving Assist 2 is reserved for the top two trims.
• Infotainment: All models use a 12.3-inch screen integrated into a single-pane display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system can receive over-the-air updates. X-Line Limited and X-Pro models get a second 12.3-inch digital display.
• Fuel efficiency: The non-turbo gas powertrain is rated at 9.4 L/100 km combined, while the turbocharged version is rated at 10.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Sorento is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, X-Line, X-Line Limited, and X-Pro.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it’s also the least compelling if you want the Sorento to feel properly motivated. It gets the standard 2.5-litre engine, and the content makes clear that this powertrain is the weakest part of the lineup.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the turbocharged 2.5-litre engine with much stronger performance without jumping all the way to the top end. It’s the trim the content specifically points to as the worthwhile upgrade.
• X-Line: Choose this if you want the more rugged look and the added capability that comes with the X-Line treatment. Navigation becomes standard from this trim up.
• X-Line Limited: This is for you if you want the nicer interior and more of the high-end equipment without going all the way to the X-Pro. It also gets the second 12.3-inch digital display.
• X-Pro: Pick this if you want the most capability in the lineup, including all-terrain tires, improved engine cooling, a higher tow rating, and the most upscale equipment. It’s the most expensive choice, so it makes sense mainly if you’ll use the added hardware.

Kia’s advanced safety suite is a major strength across the lineup, with more standard and optional systems than ever.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 332 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.82% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,451 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $37,451 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,993 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Sorento has moved into a more buyer-friendly position, which can help you if you’re shopping used today. For a future seller, it means you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if your vehicle is a higher-trim example.

The current trend also shows that the market has already adjusted downward from last year’s level, so resale expectations should be realistic rather than optimistic. If you own one, trim choice and condition will matter a lot when it comes time to sell.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento safe?

The 2024 Kia Sorento has not yet been fully evaluated by the IIHS, but it has earned “Good” ratings in the small overlap, original moderate overlap front, and original side tests. It also earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia’s standard safety suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-following and lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert with emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Navigation-based adaptive cruise control and Highway Driving Assist are available, while Highway Driving Assist 2, which adds automated lane changes, is limited to the top two trims.

The main caveat is that IIHS has not fully evaluated the 2024 model yet, and the LATCH system earns only an “Acceptable” result because the lower anchors are too deep in the seat. Even so, the Sorento’s standard safety equipment is a major strength.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.82% compared with last year.
• The 2024 brings a visual refresh, major infotainment and safety updates, and a new X-Pro trim.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $41,237 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,451 CAD average.
• It is largely unchanged after the 2024 refresh.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it delivers the refresh and the lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year with similar content, the 2025 is the alternative to consider.
