Used 2024 Kia Sorento for Sale nearAjax, ON

How much does the 2024 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 12.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 312 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento a good car?

The 2024 Kia Sorento earns an 8.67/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It fits well if you want a family-friendly midsize SUV with a standard third row, more room than a compact crossover, and a smaller footprint than many three-row rivals. The 2024 update also gives it a more upscale look, easier-to-use tech, and more standard safety equipment.

The trade-offs are worth noting: the base engine is underwhelming, the third row is cramped, and top trims can get pricey.

Only 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market has some value opportunities but still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento reliable?

The 2024 Sorento is presented as a solidly assembled, family-focused SUV with a strong value proposition and a broad set of standard safety features. Its updated systems are described as easier to use and more future-proof, and the powertrain lineup includes a base engine and a stronger turbocharged option.

The performance notes also point to a well-rounded chassis: it corners with confidence, steering is well weighted, and the brakes are strong. The turbocharged version feels lively, while the base engine is described as overmatched by the vehicle’s weight.

Kia’s updated infotainment and safety systems are meant to be more capable over time, and the vehicle also supports over-the-air updates. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a trim or engine combination that leaves you wanting more power or more capability than you actually need.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Sorento?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX, EX, X-Line, X-Line Limited, and X-Pro each bring different equipment and character. The base models do not get all the fixings, while the X-Line and X-Pro add a more aggressive look and more upscale cabin touches. The X-Line Limited and X-Pro also get twin 12.3-inch displays, and the X-Pro adds a rear-view camera mirror.
• Powertrain: The LX uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, while EX and higher models use a turbocharged 2.5-litre with 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. The base engine is described as underwhelming, while the turbo feels much more robust.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-following and lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert with emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Navigation-based adaptive cruise control is available, Highway Driving Assist is available, and Highway Driving Assist 2 with automated lane changes is reserved for the top two trims.
• Infotainment: All trims use a 12.3-inch screen integrated into a single-pane display setup. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system can receive over-the-air updates. X-Line Limited and X-Pro models get a second 12.3-inch digital display.
• Fuel efficiency: The non-turbo gas version is rated at 9.4 litres per 100 kilometres combined, while turbocharged versions are rated at 10.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Sorento is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, X-Line, X-Line Limited, and X-Pro.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it is also the least compelling choice if you want the Sorento to feel properly motivated. It gets the base 2.5-litre engine and the standard safety and tech equipment, but the engine is described as underwhelming. It makes sense only if price matters most.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for most buyers. It adds the stronger turbocharged 2.5-litre engine, which is a much better match for the Sorento’s size and weight, while staying below the more expensive appearance and luxury-focused trims.
• X-Line: Choose this if you want the more rugged look and added capability. It brings the outdoorsy styling, all-wheel drive, navigation from this trim up, and the higher ground clearance noted in the performance details.
• X-Line Limited: This is the step-up choice if you want the nicer interior and more premium tech. It adds the twin 12.3-inch displays and the more upscale feel described in the cabin, making it a strong pick if you want more luxury without going all the way to the top trim.
• X-Pro: This is the most capability-focused version. It swaps in all-terrain tires, adds improved cooling, raises towing capacity, and is the trim to choose if you want the Sorento’s best light-duty trail and winter performance.

The top two trims also get Highway Driving Assist 2, which adds automated lane changes.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Sorento?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price movement to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 312 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,630 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $37,630 CAD sits slightly below last year's $43,038 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means the Sorento may not hold its peak value as strongly as it did a year ago.

If you buy at the current average or below, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s higher pricing. Well-equipped trims should still appeal to family buyers, but the softer market means resale expectations should stay realistic.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento safe?

The 2024 Kia Sorento has earned “Good” ratings in IIHS small overlap, original moderate overlap front, and original side tests, and its LATCH system earns an “Acceptable” rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia’s standard driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-following and lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert with emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Navigation-based adaptive cruise control is available, Highway Driving Assist is available, and Highway Driving Assist 2 with automated lane changes is standard on the top two trims.

The main caveat is that IIHS has not yet fully evaluated the 2024 Sorento, and the LATCH result is weaker than the rest of the safety story.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.56% compared with last year.
• It brings a visual refresh, easier-to-use tech, and more standard safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $41,611 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,630 CAD average.
• It adds a broader powertrain lineup and stays largely unchanged after the 2024 refresh.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the smarter buy if you want the refreshed look, updated tech, and better pricing. If you are price-sensitive, the 2024 gives you the stronger value case; if you want to pay more for the next model year’s broader powertrain choices, the 2025 is the alternative.
