There are 712 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice if you’re comparing trims and equipment.

Is the 2024 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia Seltos earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, comfort, handling, and useful features, along with its safety equipment and stylish design. For shoppers who want a small crossover with a practical cabin, easy-to-use technology, and strong everyday usability, the Seltos fits that brief well.

The main trade-offs are that the base engine feels underpowered and the optional turbo engine has some low-speed turbo-lag. Even so, the Seltos remains a strong fit if you value space, standard equipment, and a straightforward cabin in a compact SUV.

With 31.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still enough market value to make this a worthwhile model to shop carefully.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with repeated praise for comfort, features, and the kind of practicality that makes the Seltos easy to count on day to day. The expert assessment also reinforces that impression by describing it as a well-rounded small crossover with useful standard equipment and a functional cabin.

Kia’s ownership proposition is helped by the Seltos’s straightforward layout and broad appeal, which can make it a sensible used buy if you want something that should be easy to live with over time. As with any used SUV, the key long-term risk is choosing a poorly maintained example, so service history matters.

Which 2024 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Seltos is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, EX Premium, SX, and X-Line.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already brings a strong equipment list, including heated front seats, an 8-inch touchscreen, and standard AWD on the base trim level in Canada’s market context. It’s the best-value choice if you want the Seltos’s core strengths without stretching the budget.
• EX: This trim adds a sunroof, push-button start, LED daytime running lights, and upgraded upholstery, making it a sensible step up if you want more comfort and convenience without jumping too far in price.
• EX Premium: This is the trim to target if you want the most meaningful everyday upgrades, including the fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and standard AWD. It also unlocks smart adaptive cruise control, which makes it a strong all-rounder.
• SX: This is the feature-rich choice, adding the turbocharged engine, Bose audio, digital key, rain-sensing wipers, and more advanced driver assistance features. It suits you if you want the most power and the most equipment.
• X-Line: This is the style-led top trim, with unique exterior details, gloss black 18-inch wheels, and the turbocharged AWD powertrain. It’s the pick if you want the most distinctive look and the full feature set.

The safety package expands as you move up the range, with EX Premium and SX gaining additional driver-assistance features beyond the standard suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Seltos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 712 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.03% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,888 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $26,238 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,826 CAD.

That price decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may be starting from a lower entry point than owners did a year ago, which can help soften depreciation pressure.

The Seltos’s broad appeal should help support demand, especially because it combines space, standard features, and useful safety equipment in a compact SUV package. Strong owner satisfaction can also help keep interest steady when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2024 Kia Seltos earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keep assist and lane-departure warning, lane-follow assist, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Warning. EX Premium adds smart adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and navigation-based curve prediction, while the SX adds traffic sign recognition, highway driving assist, a junction-turning function for forward collision warning, and drive-away warning.

That broad standard suite is a major strength, especially for a small crossover at this price point. The main caveat is that some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims, so you’ll need to move up the range if you want the fullest safety tech package.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings the refresh with updated styling and technology while keeping the Seltos’s spacious, practical character intact.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed Seltos with updated tech, strong standard safety equipment, and a roomy cabin, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024’s combination of value, equipment, and market softness makes it the more compelling all-around choice.
