How much does the 2024 Hyundai Sonata cost?

Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata stands out because it combines striking styling, a long list of standard equipment, and a more polished cabin than earlier versions of the car. It is a good fit if you want a comfortable, efficient midsize sedan with plenty of safety technology, above-average interior and trunk space, and a relaxed, well-equipped cruiser character rather than a sporty one.

Its biggest strengths are value, equipment, and everyday comfort, while its main trade-off is that it is not as sporty to drive as it looks. 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata is presented as a comfortable, well-equipped midsize sedan with a polished cabin and a strong safety feature set. It also benefits from a major refresh for 2024, which brought updated styling and a redesigned dashboard with modern tech.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that you are still shopping a car whose appeal depends heavily on condition, maintenance history, and how well its technology and comfort features have aged.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 147 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.12% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,481 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $28,481 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,163 CAD.

That drop suggests the Sonata has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. If you plan to resell later, the current trend points to a market that is still adjusting downward from last year’s level. For you, that can be an advantage now, but it may limit upside if you buy at the top of the range.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.12% compared with last year.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $32,113 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $28,481 CAD average.
• It adds improved crash-test ratings and rear-seat air vents.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with a meaningful amount of deal activity. If you are willing to spend more for updated safety improvements and a few family-friendly upgrades, the 2025 is the better secondary path.
