How much does the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 12.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 495 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

It stands out for its fully redesigned look, longer wheelbase, standard third-row seats, and a “terrace” approach to passenger and cargo space. That makes it a strong fit if you want a distinctive family SUV that still prioritises practicality.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the third row is cramped, performance is pedestrian, and top trims can get expensive.

With 35.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive example.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Santa Fe’s redesign pairs bold styling with substance, and Hyundai’s vehicles typically fare well in safety evaluations. The expert road test also points to a smooth, mostly stable driving experience with few misses in acceleration, throttle response, or shifting.

Hyundai’s first-in-the-lineup driver monitoring system adds another layer of reassurance, using an infrared camera and steering-wheel sensors to track alertness and hand placement. If the system senses you are not paying attention or are incapacitated, it escalates warnings before bringing the vehicle to a stop and notifying authorities of a potential emergency.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic dependability and more about choosing a trim that matches your needs without overpaying for extras.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Preferred trim includes a long list of standard safety features, but higher trims add useful upgrades like a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, parking sensors, reverse parking collision assist, and remote automatic parking. If you want the best value, the Preferred trim with the Trend package is the standout choice.
• Powertrain: In Canada, the hybrid powertrain is the entry-level option on Preferred models and the limited-run NHL Edition, while other trims use a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is standard across the lineup.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s standard suite includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring, and a rear-occupant reminder system. Higher trims add more advanced camera and parking features.
• Infotainment: The cabin centres on a curved panoramic display, while the Preferred trim uses a simpler 12.3-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto come standard across the lineup, and the system also includes a 12-speaker Bose stereo and six USB ports.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is rated at 6.8 L/100 km in city driving, 6.9 on the highway, and 6.9 combined. The gas powertrain is rated at 12.1 L/100 km city, 8.8 highway, and 10.6 combined, while the XRT is rated at 12.2/9.1/10.8.

Which 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 4 trim levels: Preferred, Preferred with Trend package, XRT, and Ultimate Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point, and it already brings a strong safety list plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Santa Fe.
• Preferred with Trend package: This is the best-value choice for most Canadians. It adds the more fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain plus 20-inch alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, a dual-pane power sunroof, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless charging pad, third-row USB ports, Hyundai Digital Key, and upgraded ultrasonic rear occupant alert.
• XRT: Choose this if you want the more rugged character. It adds dark chrome and black cladding and trim, off-road modes, extra ground clearance, and all-terrain tires.
• Ultimate Calligraphy: This is the luxury-focused pick, with 21-inch wheels, premium cabin touches, a widescreen head-up display, and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems.

From a safety standpoint, the base Preferred trim already includes a broad standard suite, while higher trims add more advanced camera and parking technology.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 495 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.23% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,806 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $40,806 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,492 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations. If you buy at today’s average, there is less room for appreciation and more emphasis on holding value through condition, mileage, and trim choice.

The strongest resale prospects will likely come from well-equipped trims that balance desirability and practicality without pushing too far into expensive territory. A distinctive design and strong feature content should help keep shopper interest steady.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has not yet been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai’s standard safety suite is extensive, starting with a reversing camera, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, safe-exit assist, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring with hands-off alert, and a rear-occupant reminder system.

Higher trims add an upgraded rear-occupant reminder system, forward-attention warning, side-view mirrors with turn signals, a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, rain-sensing windshield wipers, parking sensors, reverse parking collision assist, remote automatic parking, a widescreen head-up display, and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems.

One caveat is that the traffic-sign recognition system occasionally misread route signs as speed limit signs during the road test.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 brings a fully redesigned look, standard third-row seating, and a strong technology focus.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $29,709 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $40,806 CAD average.
• It delivers strong value with standard safety features and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $43,869 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $40,806 CAD average.
• It adds even bolder styling and more interior space.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest design and the most distinctive cabin in this group, the 2024 is the main target. If price matters most, the 2023 is the smarter value play, while the 2025 suits you if you want the latest styling and are willing to pay more.
