Is the 2024 Hyundai Palisade a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Palisade earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, abundant tech features, comfortable driving experience, and generous room for passengers. The Palisade also comes across as a strong value, which fits its role as a roomy, family-focused three-row SUV with an upscale feel.

The main trade-offs are its polarizing design and poor fuel economy, and some owners expected features such as leather seats and power adjustments at this price point. Even so, the Palisade’s mix of practicality and premium touches makes it appealing if you want a sensible SUV that still feels special.

With 30.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s a decent amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Palisade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the Palisade’s comfort, value, and day-to-day usability. The expert evaluation also highlights its strong value and solid overall execution, which supports confidence in how it should hold up over time.

Hyundai backs the Palisade with a five-year, 100,000-kilometre new vehicle warranty and five years of roadside assistance, which adds peace of mind for used buyers. For long-term ownership, the biggest risk is less about mechanical drama and more about whether you can live with its fuel consumption and feature set.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Palisade?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Urban trim is the more accessible choice, while Ultimate Calligraphy adds a more luxurious cabin with an artificial suede headliner, quality upholstery, metal speaker grilles, and striped dashboard and door trim. If you want the most upscale feel, the loaded trim is the one to target.
• Powertrain: Every Palisade uses a 3.8-litre V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard AWD in Canada. It has 20.3 centimetres of ground clearance and can tow up to 2,268 kilograms.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s standard suite includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a blind-spot view camera system, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, intersection assist, safe exit assist, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-seat reminder system. Highway Driving Assist is standard, and Ultimate Calligraphy adds lane-change assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, and rear-seat Quiet Mode. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, but they require a cable; wireless charging is included only on Ultimate Calligraphy.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the AWD Palisade should use 11.1 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 15.0 L/100 km in Comfort mode.

Which 2024 Hyundai Palisade trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Palisade is offered in 2 trim levels: Urban and Ultimate Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• Urban: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Palisade’s core strengths — space, standard AWD, the V6 powertrain, and the full safety and infotainment setup — without paying for the most luxurious extras.
• Ultimate Calligraphy: This is the best-value trim if you want the most premium cabin and the most complete feature set, including wireless charging and lane-change assist with Highway Driving Assist.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, so you can shop by comfort and equipment rather than worrying about missing core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Palisade?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 422 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.47% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $42,933 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Palisade's resale value?

The current average of $42,933 CAD sits slightly below last year's $49,617 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about pricing if they want to move quickly. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. Strong demand for roomy, well-equipped three-row SUVs should help support interest, especially in a model with broad owner satisfaction.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Palisade safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Palisade earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it gets five-star ratings for side-impact collisions and a four-star rollover resistance rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai’s standard driver-assistance suite is extensive, with forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a blind-spot view camera system, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, intersection assist, safe exit assist, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-seat reminder system. Highway Driving Assist is also standard, pairing adaptive cruise control with curve speed control and lane-centring assist.

A key caveat is that the IIHS rating does not include the newer moderate overlap frontal-impact test for rear occupant safety, and NHTSA frontal crash results are not listed here.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Palisade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It pairs a roomy cabin with upscale materials and thoughtful amenities after the 2023 refresh.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $39,303 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $42,933 CAD average.
• It adds a facelift and more standard tech and safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $48,033 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $42,933 CAD average.
• It remains a well-rounded, roomy three-row SUV with broad appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and current-market availability, the 2024 is the sweet spot. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter value play; if you want a newer model and can stretch, the 2025 is still worth a look.
