Used 2024 Hyundai Kona for Sale nearSurrey, BC

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Kona cost?

Prices have softened 9.94% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 654 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Kona earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The 2024 Kona stands out as all-new for 2024, with a fresh look, new technology, and a broader appeal than many small SUVs thanks to its multiple powertrain options and standard advanced safety features. It is especially well suited to you if you want a modern-feeling subcompact SUV with a strong equipment list.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and there is not enough covered storage in the cabin.

With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Kona is presented as a well-equipped, newly redesigned SUV with a strong safety and technology package, which supports confidence for everyday use. Its standard advanced safety content and broad feature set also point to a vehicle built to meet modern expectations.

Hyundai’s safety and driver-assistance systems are described as high quality, and the Kona’s Highway Driving Assist suite is highlighted for smooth lane-keeping behaviour. The powertrain lineup is straightforward, with a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre engine in Essential and Preferred trims and a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine in N Line trims.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a feature-rich vehicle can still be less satisfying if you expect lively acceleration or extra cabin storage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Essential trim gets the new design, standard LED lighting, and the updated curved display, while Preferred adds more equipment and the N Line brings the sportier look, larger wheels, and the turbo engine. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more if you value extra comfort and convenience features.
• Powertrain: Essential and Preferred use a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque, while N Line uses a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. FWD is standard, and AWD is available on Essential and Preferred for an added fee.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist suite is the named driver-assistance system, and standard safety equipment includes Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist. Adaptive cruise control is standard from the Preferred trim, while the N Line’s Ultimate package adds Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all trims in Canada except the N Line with the Ultimate package, OTA update capability, and Bluelink connected services. The N Line also gets dual 12.3-inch displays in the curved housing.
• Fuel efficiency: AWD increases fuel economy estimates on the Essential trim from 8.1 litres per 100 kilometres city, 6.8 highway, and 7.5 combined to 8.8/8.1/8.5. In the N Line AWD, expect to consume 9.7 L/100 km city, 8.3 highway, and 9.1 combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Kona trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona is offered in 3 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, N Line.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the redesigned Kona, standard LED lighting, the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the core safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra comfort and convenience features.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more everyday convenience and is the first trim to get adaptive cruise control. If you want a more complete package without stepping all the way up to the sportier model, this is the one to focus on.
• N Line: Choose this if you want the turbocharged engine, standard AWD, paddle shifters, larger wheels, and the more distinctive sporty appearance. It is the right pick if you care more about character and equipment than lowest cost.

The safety package is strongest once you move beyond the base trim, especially if you want adaptive cruise control and the N Line’s extra camera-based features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 654 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.94% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,603 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The current average of $27,783 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,848 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Kona more appealing to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend more on condition, mileage, and trim choice than on broad market momentum alone.

Because the model is all-new for 2024 and well equipped, it should still attract shoppers looking for a modern small SUV. Strong feature content can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist suite is the named driver-assistance system, and standard safety equipment includes Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist. Adaptive cruise control is standard from the Preferred trim, while the N Line’s Ultimate package adds Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.

The main safety caveat is that some of the more advanced features are not standard on every trim, so you will want to check equipment carefully if those systems matter to you.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Kona or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It is all-new for 2024, with a fresh look, new technology, and standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $29,923 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,783 CAD average.
• It is mostly unchanged, but adds a more spacious cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the stronger buy because prices have eased and the model brings a full redesign. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year and a roomier cabin, the 2025 is worth a look.
