Used 2024 Hyundai Elantra for Sale near Niagara Falls, ON

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 11.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 918 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

It’s a mixed but appealing compact sedan if you value variety, style, and a broad equipment spread over a conventional feel. The user rating is 3/5, and the expert rating is 7.33/10.

The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

The Elantra is presented as a compact sedan that has moved well beyond Hyundai’s old bargain-first image, with the current generation judged on how it drives and feels as much as on price and equipment. For 2024, the mild refresh adds more style and standard equipment, which strengthens its appeal if you want a small sedan with more character than a typical commuter car.

The trade-offs are clear: the design may be polarising, the base engine is underwhelming, and the interior materials can feel cheap. Even so, the broader trim and powertrain spread gives you more choice than many rivals.

Only 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

The 2024 Elantra is positioned as a well-sorted compact sedan, and the expert assessment supports that it has moved well past Hyundai’s old low-cost reputation. The test-drive summary describes it as genuinely sporty and well-constructed, while also noting that it competes on substance rather than just price.

Its powertrain range is a strength for long-term ownership because you can choose between efficiency-focused and performance-oriented setups instead of being locked into one compromise. The performance notes also point to a car that can be comfortable and economical, which is useful if you plan to keep it for the long haul.

Hyundai’s five-year/100,000-kilometre new vehicle warranty is a helpful ownership cushion, especially on a used example that still has coverage remaining. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the cheapest versions may feel less satisfying day to day, so condition and trim choice matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Elantra?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Essential, Preferred, and Luxury trims lose the sportier bumpers that complement the body, so the car can look and feel less distinctive than higher-spec versions. The base Essential is also described as particularly good inside, while the overall cabin can feel plasticky.
• Powertrain: The common 2.0-litre inline-four with 147 horsepower and a CVT is adequate around town but very weak and loud on the highway. The 1.6-litre turbo-four in the N Line is the stronger choice if you want more verve, while the Elantra N is the most powerful option.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward braking assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, lane following assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. From the Preferred grade, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist are added. Luxury trims up to N Line include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and highway driving assist.
• Infotainment: The Essential and Preferred trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while Luxury and above get a 10.25-inch screen. The smaller screen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the larger one does not; the larger setup also brings a digital instrument panel.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is rated at 7.7 L/100 km city, 5.9 highway, and 6.9 combined, while the N Line Ultimate is rated at 8.3/6.8/7.6. The hybrid is rated at 4.8 L/100 km city, 4.5 highway, and 4.7 combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 5 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, N Line Ultimate, and N.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Elantra lineup. It gets the core safety and tech basics, but it’s also the trim most likely to feel stripped down compared with the better-equipped versions.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Luxury: This is the trim to target if you want the more polished daily-driver experience. It brings the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, digital instrumentation, Bose audio, wireless charging, and Highway Driving Assist.
• N Line Ultimate: Choose this if you want the strongest blend of style and performance without going all the way to the full N. It adds the 1.6-litre turbo powertrain and a more engaging driving character.
• N: This is the enthusiast pick. It is the most performance-focused version and suits you if outright driving excitement matters more than comfort or efficiency.

Safety-package note: Luxury trims up to N Line include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and highway driving assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Elantra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 918 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,650 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $22,650 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,570 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle. If you sell later, the same softness may limit how much value you recover unless you own a higher-trim or especially well-kept example.

For future resale, the best protection is choosing a desirable trim and keeping the car in strong condition. A well-equipped version with broader appeal should be easier to move than a bare-bones example.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2024 Elantra received a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It earns four-star ratings for the front passenger, and five-star ratings for the driver and for front and rear passengers in the two side tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features on the 2024 Hyundai Elantra in Canada include forward braking assist, lane keep assist and lane departure warning, lane following assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor.

There are some caveats to keep in mind: IIHS did not perform all of its standard crash tests, and the new moderate-overlap frontal test showed worse results than the 2021 Elantra. Rear passengers also had a higher risk of injury despite the addition of two rear side airbags for 2024, and there are no frontal knee airbags.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.42% compared with last year.
• The refresh adds more style and standard equipment, while the car remains a well-mannered, versatile compact sedan.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,937 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $22,650 CAD average.
• It offers a wide spread of choices, including a roomy, safe, efficient, and technologically advanced compact sedan.

The bottom line: choose the 2024 if you want the updated look and equipment, especially if you’re comparing well-equipped trims. If price is your top priority, the 2023 is the better value play and still gives you much of the Elantra’s core appeal.
