What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Ridgeline?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2024 Ridgeline is offered in Sport, TrailSport, and Black Edition. The Sport gets the core updates, while the TrailSport adds an off-road suspension, all-terrain tyres, underbody protection, and exclusive paint; the Black Edition adds extra convenience and audio upgrades. The TrailSport is the most distinctive choice if you want the newest hardware, while the Sport is the best-value trim because it benefits from the major tech and safety updates.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 280 horsepower, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. It is smooth and quick on the road, but the transmission can feel irritating and the truck is not built for serious off-road use.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist with road departure mitigation, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard on the 2024 Ridgeline Sport.
• Infotainment: Every Ridgeline gets a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and a 7-inch digital display in the gauge cluster. The Black Edition adds HD Radio, extra USB ports, and an eight-speaker premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: Official combined fuel consumption is 11.6 L/100 km, or 11.5 L/100 km for non-TrailSport models.

Which 2024 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, TrailSport, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the best-value trim because it gets the key 2024 upgrades, including the 9-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, and the expanded safety equipment.
• TrailSport: Choose this if you want the most rugged-looking Ridgeline and the added off-road suspension, all-terrain tyres, and underbody protection.
• Black Edition: Pick this if you want the most upscale version, with extra USB ports, HD Radio, and the premium eight-speaker audio system.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the 2024 Ridgeline Sport.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Ridgeline?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on well-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 21.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 122 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.77% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,441 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?

The current average of $47,770 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,793 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Ridgeline has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract attention if pricing stays competitive. The year-round range also shows there is still a meaningful spread between lower and higher asking prices, so condition and trim will matter when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Ridgeline safe?

The 2024 Honda Ridgeline earns an Acceptable score instead of Good in the IIHS small overlap frontal-impact test, and the IIHS rates its headlights as Marginal. It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist with road departure mitigation, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard on the 2024 Ridgeline Sport.

The NHTSA gives the Ridgeline five-star ratings across the board except for rollover resistance, where it scores a four-star rating. That makes it strong in most crash categories, but the IIHS results show there are still a couple of areas where it trails the best performers.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 21.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds the TrailSport trim, plus updated tech and safety equipment.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $43,656 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $47,770 CAD average.
• It is a practical daily driver with strong comfort and versatility.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $51,402 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $47,770 CAD average.
• It carries forward the Ridgeline’s easy-to-live-with, practical character.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Ridgeline, the 2024 is the one to target because it adds meaningful updates without losing the truck’s core strengths. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better value play, while the 2025 makes sense only if you find a compelling example and do not mind paying more.
