How much does the 2024 Honda Passport cost?

Prices have softened 12.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 73 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2024 Honda Passport a good car?

Yes — 5/5 owners rate it, and our experts score it 7.2/10. The Passport takes a straightforward approach in the midsize SUV segment, focusing on a proven engine, easy-to-use technology, plenty of cargo space, a comfortable ride, and standard all-wheel drive. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

The trade-offs are clear: it is not very fuel efficient, and pricing starts higher than the competition. That makes it a better fit if you value space, comfort, and all-weather confidence more than the lowest purchase price or the latest flashy tech. With 23.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Honda Passport reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Passport is described as practical, spacious, safe, and reliable, with a proven naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Its standard all-wheel-drive system and simple, easy-to-use technology support that reputation, and the drivetrain is described as unobtrusive in normal use. Honda’s standard maintenance coverage is not detailed here, but the model’s straightforward mechanical setup should help keep ownership predictable for used buyers.

For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that its fuel economy and higher starting price can make it less economical to live with than some rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Passport?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Passport comes in Sport, TrailSport, and Black Edition. Every trim gets a power moonroof, identical touchscreens, and all-wheel drive, so the base trim does not miss out on those core features. The TrailSport adds a more rugged look with all-terrain tyres, roof rails, and LED fog lights.
• Powertrain: Every Passport uses a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 with 280 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Honda’s torque-vectoring i-VTM4 all-wheel-drive system and traction-management modes are standard, and fuel economy is rated at 12.5 L/100 km in the city, 9.8 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.3 L/100 km combined.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. Those features are standard across the lineup.
• Infotainment: You get an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and a wireless charging pad. The Black Edition adds a native navigation system and a 10-speaker audio system, while the TrailSport uses a seven-speaker setup.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the Passport at 12.5 L/100 km in the city, 9.8 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Honda Passport trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Passport is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, TrailSport, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the trim to start with if you want the Passport’s core strengths without paying for extras you may not need. You still get all-wheel drive, the power moonroof, the 8-inch touchscreen, and the full Honda Sensing safety suite, so it covers the essentials well.
• TrailSport: This is the best-value choice if you want the Passport’s more adventurous personality. It adds all-terrain tyres, roof rails, LED fog lights, and off-road-tuned suspension, while keeping the same standard AWD and safety equipment as the rest of the range.
• Black Edition: Choose this if you want the most upscale Passport. It adds the native navigation system and a 10-speaker audio system, making it the most feature-rich trim in the lineup.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim, so you do not need to move up the range for the core safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Passport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 23.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 73 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.20% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $45,349 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Passport's resale value?

The current average of $45,807 CAD sits slightly below last year's $52,171 CAD.

That softer pricing trend can be good news if you are buying now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market. If prices continue to normalise, resale values could remain under pressure compared with last year’s level. Still, the Passport’s practical layout and broad appeal should help it stay relevant with used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Passport safe?

The 2024 Honda Passport earns an Acceptable rating in the passenger-side small overlap crash test and a Marginal rating in the updated side-impact crash tests from IIHS, and it earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. That is a strong standard safety list, but the IIHS results are a notable caveat if crash-test performance is a priority for you.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Passport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 23.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 refresh keeps the Passport focused on a proven engine, easy-to-use technology, and practical everyday usability.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Passport’s simple, space-first formula, the 2024 model is the one to target. If you are mainly shopping on price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2024’s softer pricing and strong owner satisfaction make it the safer all-round pick.
