CarGurus Analysis: 2024 Honda Odyssey
Summary
With 86 currently listed for sale and an average price of $45,101 CAD, 25.6% of 2024 Honda Odyssey listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Honda Odyssey 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2024 Honda Odyssey stands out as a family minivan that keeps its focus on practicality without feeling stripped down. It still uses a 3.5-litre J-Series V6, and Honda says it makes 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The Odyssey also comes only with front-wheel drive, which fits its long-running formula of being a big, easygoing people mover rather than a more complicated all-weather machine. Honda’s emphasis on structure and refinement is part of the appeal too: the fifth-generation body uses more ultra-high-strength steel, aluminium, and magnesium, and Honda says that helped cut weight by 34 kilograms while increasing structural rigidity by 44%.
For buyers, the 2024 Odyssey’s appeal is in how much family equipment it packs in. Even the basic EX-L includes the full Honda Sensing suite, with features such as collision-mitigation braking, road-departure mitigation, blind-spot information, cross-traffic alert, a multi-angle rearview camera, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow. In Canada, it also includes seating for seven, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a moonroof, a power tailgate, leather seating, CabinTalk, and a rear-seat entertainment system. The second-row Magic Slide seats are another useful touch, since they make access to the rear easier, and higher trims can add items such as ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, CabinWatch, and an 11-speaker audio system.
There are a few trade-offs, though. The Odyssey does not offer all-wheel drive or a hybrid version, and its fuel consumption is not especially impressive for the class, at around 10.6 litres per 100 kilometres combined. The early years of this generation also drew complaints for electrical glitches, infotainment issues, and transmission problems, so a careful test drive and maintenance history still matter. Even so, the 2024 Honda Odyssey remains distinctive because it blends strong family-friendly equipment, a roomy and flexible cabin, and a long-established reputation for comfort and durability.

So far so good! A lot of bells and whistles that were not used to. It handles really well and our kids are happy exploring it. I just wish the acceleration was a little better for turning into traffic. Hope to keep this car for a long time.

How much does the 2024 Honda Odyssey cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $47,577 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $47,577 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $52,192 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $52,184 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −8.83% |
Prices have softened 8.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 207 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2024 Honda Odyssey a good car?
Yes — the 2024 Honda Odyssey earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It is built around practicality, with a roomy and flexible cabin, family-friendly equipment, and a long-established reputation for comfort and durability. If you want a minivan that prioritises everyday usefulness over flash, this model year fits that brief well. With 33.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2024 Honda Odyssey reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2024 Odyssey’s appeal is reinforced by its emphasis on structure and refinement, plus a straightforward front-wheel-drive layout and a proven V6 setup. That said, early examples of this generation drew complaints for electrical glitches, infotainment issues, and transmission problems, so a careful test drive and maintenance history still matter. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you avoid a poorly maintained example.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Odyssey?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.
- Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 207 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.83% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $47,577 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Honda Odyssey's resale value?
The current average of $47,577 CAD sits slightly below last year's $52,184 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale values may face some pressure if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying closer to the lower end of the range gives you more room to preserve equity. The Odyssey’s strong family appeal should still help it remain relevant with used shoppers.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.83% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2025 if:
- At $50,659 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $47,577 CAD average.
- It adds updated tech and a new rear-seat entertainment system.
The bottom line: The 2024 is the better value if you want the strongest mix of price and proven family usefulness. If you want newer tech and are willing to pay more, the 2025 is the secondary path to consider.
