How much does the 2024 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 9.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 858 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing options.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the new look, interior design, smooth manual shifting, and great gas mileage. The Civic Si also fits buyers who want an engaging drive without giving up everyday usability, and the overview frames it as a car for drivers who enjoy the act of driving while still valuing practicality.

The trade-offs are clear: all-wheel drive is not available, the brakes can’t withstand repeated hard use, and the driver assistance technology can be irritating.

With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to find a compelling example if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for the car’s smooth manual shifting, strong fuel economy, and overall satisfaction with the driving experience. The expert evaluation also describes the Civic Si as a car that works well as a daily driver, with a powertrain and chassis setup that feel composed in normal use.

Honda’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not basic dependability so much as wear-related issues tied to hard driving, especially if the car has been used enthusiastically.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Civic Si’s stealthy exterior treatment, red interior accents, LED lighting, 18-inch wheels, and dual exhaust give it a more expressive look than the standard Civic sedan, but the base setup still keeps the car understated. You should check whether the example you’re considering has the equipment you want, since the safety and convenience content is tied closely to this enthusiast-focused trim.
• Powertrain: You get a high-output turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission, rev-matching, a helical limited-slip differential, and front-wheel drive. It is tuned for engagement rather than all-weather traction, and the car is happiest when you’re using the gearbox.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition. The system can be irritating in use, so make sure it behaves the way you want on a test drive.
• Infotainment: You get a 9-inch colour touchscreen with onboard navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, text-messaging support, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and HondaLink connected services. The system is easy to use, and the standard Bose audio system is a plus.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the Civic Si should burn 7.7 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test route returned 8.0 L/100 km.

Which 2024 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Civic is offered in 1 trim level: Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

The Civic Si is the clear choice if you want the most engaging version of this model year. It adds the manual transmission, limited-slip differential, stronger chassis hardware, and the full technology suite, so it suits you best if driving enjoyment matters more than all-weather traction or maximum comfort. It is also the best-value pick here because there is only one trim to choose from, and it bundles the enthusiast hardware with the strongest tech package.

Honda Sensing is standard, but its behaviour can be intrusive, so you should test the driver-assistance systems carefully before buying.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 858 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,554 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $27,554 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,467 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. If demand stays healthy, the Civic’s broad appeal and strong reputation should help support values. The enthusiast-focused Si trim may also hold interest among shoppers who want a manual compact sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic safe?

The 2024 Honda Civic earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it earns five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration overall, with a four-star rating for front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition.

The main caveat is that the system can feel intrusive in everyday driving, especially the lane-keeping and adaptive cruise functions, so you should make sure you’re comfortable with how it behaves before you buy.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the enthusiast-focused Si formula with a manual transmission and strong driving engagement.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $29,355 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,554 CAD average.
• It adds a clearer gas-model lineup with LX and Sport trims, plus Google Built-In.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the smarter buy. If you want a newer Civic with a broader trim structure and modern tech updates, the 2025 is worth the extra money.
