How much does the 2024 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 9.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 775 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Honda Civic earns 4.5/5 from owners and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the new look, interior design, smooth manual shifting, and great gas mileage. They also highlight the driving experience, which lines up with the Civic Si’s enthusiast-focused character and its easy-to-use technology.

The trade-offs are clear: road and wind noise can be noticeable, and the car is tuned more for engagement than quiet comfort. It suits you best if you want a compact sedan that feels rewarding to drive without giving up everyday usability.

With 29.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its smooth manual shifting, strong fuel economy, and overall driving experience. That combination suggests you can count on it to be satisfying over the long term if you value a well-sorted compact performance sedan.

The expert evaluation also describes the Civic Si as a proven package that has remained unchanged since its 2022 redesign, which supports confidence in its basic mechanical formula. Honda also includes a first scheduled maintenance visit on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that enthusiast use can expose wear more quickly, especially if the car has been driven hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Civic Si’s stealthy exterior treatment, red-accented cabin, 18-inch matte-black wheels, and dual exhaust outlets set it apart from the standard Civic sedan. The base setup also misses the more expressive interior details and performance-focused hardware that define this version.
• Powertrain: You get a high-output turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, paired only with a six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The helical limited-slip differential and rev-matching feature are key parts of the driving experience.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition. The system can feel intrusive, especially in city driving.
• Infotainment: You get a 9-inch colour touchscreen with onboard navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, text-messaging support, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and HondaLink connected services. The system is easy to use and includes physical controls for key functions.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says it should use 7.7 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test route returned 8.0 L/100 km.

Which 2024 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Civic is offered in 1 trim level: Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

Civic Si: This is the only trim, so your decision is really whether you want the Civic’s enthusiast-focused formula. It brings the manual transmission, limited-slip differential, larger brakes, upgraded suspension hardware, wireless smartphone integration, and the Bose audio system. It is the best fit if you want the most engaging Civic sedan and value driving enjoyment over quiet comfort.

Honda Sensing is standard, but its lane-keeping and adaptive cruise behaviour can be irritating.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Civic?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 775 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.73% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,755 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $27,812 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,810 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive point, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. If demand remains steady, the Civic’s strong reputation and broad appeal should help support values better than many rivals.

The model’s enthusiast appeal and owner satisfaction can help keep buyer interest healthy, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment and a clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic safe?

The 2024 Honda Civic earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and the 2024 Civic sedan earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall and in all individual assessments except for a four-star rating for front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition.

The caveat is that the system can be irritating in real-world use, especially the lane-keeping and adaptive cruise functions. The expert evaluation also notes that the braking system showed vibration under hard mountain driving, which is worth keeping in mind if you plan to drive the car aggressively.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the proven, unchanged Si formula with manual-only driving engagement and strong tech.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $30,092 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,812 CAD average.
• It adds a refreshed Civic lineup with clearer powertrain separation and Google Built-In.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it delivers the core Civic Si experience at a lower average price. If you are willing to pay more for the newer model-year refresh and broader lineup changes, the 2025 is the better secondary path.
