Is the 2024 GMC Terrain a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2024 GMC Terrain stands out as a compact SUV that leans more premium and more angular than many rivals, and it combines a manageable footprint with practical equipment and a broad feature set. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, many models feature an eight-inch touchscreen, and the safety technology list is substantial for this generation. 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 GMC Terrain’s appeal comes from its practical equipment, safety technology, and more upscale feel than its mainstream positioning might suggest. It also benefits from a slightly smarter interior and better sound insulation, which can make day-to-day ownership feel more polished. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some interior materials feel cheap, so condition and maintenance history matter.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 690 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.32% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $30,329 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $30,351 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,015 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you buy now and later resell after a period of normal use. If prices stay near this level, future sellers may face a more stable market than buyers did a year ago. The model’s broad feature set and premium-leaning character should help keep it relevant with shoppers looking for a compact SUV that feels a bit more upscale.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 GMC Terrain is the better pick if you want a compact SUV with a more premium feel, solid safety technology, and a price that has moved down from last year. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, equipment, and asking price.
