Used 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 for Sale nearMidland, ON

How much does the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 17.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,656 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and equipment.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 earns a 4.64/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise the powerful engine choices, comfortable and spacious interior, and well-equipped features. The truck also gets credit for its attractive styling and upscale feel, which helps it stand out if you want a full-size pickup that can do work-duty, off-road duty, or long-distance comfort.

The trade-offs are that not all advanced safety features are standard, and value for money is a weak point. That matters most if you want a truck that feels premium without stretching too far up the trim ladder.

With 35.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is enough market flexibility to shop carefully and still find a competitive example.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its powerful engine, comfortable cabin, and well-equipped nature. That combination usually matters more over the long haul than flashy features alone.

On the expert side, the diesel powertrain is described as smooth, linear, and well suited to towing, while the 10-speed automatic is calm and well mannered. The truck’s broad warranty coverage also helps reduce ownership anxiety.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some infotainment and emissions-related concerns have shown up in owner feedback, so a careful test drive and service-history check are worthwhile.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Sierra 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Pro is the fleet-focused starting point with a black grille, painted 17-inch wheels, and a more basic look, while Denali and Denali Ultimate bring the chrome-heavy luxury treatment and available 22-inch wheels. AT4 and AT4X are the off-road-oriented choices, but they do not stand out as much visually as the luxury trims.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.7-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, 5.3-litre V8, 6.2-litre V8, or 3.0-litre Duramax turbodiesel. The diesel stands out for its strong torque and smooth, linear delivery, while the V8s add more traditional truck power.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, park assist, and Super Cruise are optional, and Super Cruise is available on Denali and Denali Ultimate models.
• Infotainment: Pro models use a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SLE and higher trims get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13.4-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google Built-In.
• Fuel efficiency: The Duramax diesel is rated at 9.2 L/100 km combined with RWD and 9.6 L/100 km combined with 4WD. The TurboMax four-cylinder can achieve 12 L/100 km combined in some configurations, while the V8s land in the 14 to 16 L/100 km range.

Which 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is offered in 8 trim levels: Pro, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Pro: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and can live with the most basic equipment. It is best for fleet use or buyers who care more about utility than comfort.
• SLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the larger 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 13.4-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity and Google Built-In. It is the sweet spot if you want modern tech without jumping into luxury pricing.
• Elevation: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look than the SLE while staying in the mainstream part of the lineup. It suits buyers who want style and equipment without moving into premium-trim territory.
• SLT: This is the step-up choice for shoppers who want a more upscale feel and more comfort-focused equipment. It makes sense if you want a nicer daily driver but do not need the full luxury treatment.
• AT4: This is the off-road-oriented trim, and for 2024 it gets the Duramax diesel as standard. It is the right pick if you want rugged hardware and strong towing-friendly torque.
• AT4X: This is the more serious off-road version, adding a front locker and more sophisticated Multimatic DSSV dampers. It suits buyers who want the most capable trail-focused Sierra 1500.
• Denali: This is the luxury trim for shoppers who want the signature chrome look, upscale features, and access to Super Cruise. It is a strong choice if comfort matters as much as capability.
• Denali Ultimate: This is the top luxury trim, and it is the one to buy if you want the most feature-rich Sierra 1500 experience. It is the best fit for buyers who want a premium long-distance cruiser with the fullest equipment list.

Super Cruise is available on Denali and Denali Ultimate models, so those trims are the ones to target if hands-free highway driving matters to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Sierra 1500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,656 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.23% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $54,905 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500's resale value?

The current average of $54,905 CAD sits slightly below last year's $66,335 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future sellers if they bought before the recent softening. It also means resale expectations should be set with today’s lower pricing in mind rather than last year’s higher benchmark.

Because the Sierra 1500 has broad appeal across work, luxury, and off-road use, well-equipped examples should continue to attract interest. Strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 safe?

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab received Good scores in the driver-side small overlap front crash test, the original moderate overlap front crash test, and the side crash test from IIHS, but it earned an Acceptable score in the updated side crash test and a Marginal score in the passenger-side small overlap front crash test. It also received five-star ratings from NHTSA overall and for side-crash protection, with four-star ratings in rollover and frontal crash testing.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and park assist are optional, so you will want to check carefully for those features on the specific used truck you are considering.

The main caveat is the uneven IIHS result, especially the passenger-side small overlap front crash score and the updated side crash score. If safety is a top priority, look closely at the exact trim and option content rather than assuming every Sierra 1500 is equally equipped.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 keeps the Sierra 1500’s broad trim spread, diesel efficiency, and available Super Cruise in play.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $49,725 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $54,905 CAD average.
• It leans harder into luxury with the Denali Ultimate trim.

The bottom line: Buy the 2024 if you want the stronger current-market mix of value, inventory, and feature breadth. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the better price-sensitive path, especially if you are shopping for a well-equipped luxury-oriented truck.
