It stands out as the more upscale of GMC’s full-size pickup truck siblings, with a broad trim range that can suit work-ready simplicity, rugged off-road character, or a more luxurious daily driver. The 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 is built around a wide spread of proven powertrain choices and a trim lineup that lets you tailor the truck to your needs. Its 2022 refresh also brought updated styling and better infotainment functionality, which can help with day-to-day usability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific truck you choose has been maintained properly, especially if it was used for heavy towing or off-road driving.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Sierra 1500?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,555 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $64,684 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Sierra 1500's resale value?

The current average of $64,684 CAD sits slightly below last year's $73,020 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the truck more attractive to buyers now but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. On the other hand, the Sierra 1500’s premium positioning and broad trim appeal can help it stay desirable among shoppers looking for a full-size pickup with more refinement. If you buy well and keep mileage and condition in check, you should be in a better position when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $54,754 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $64,684 CAD average.
• It offers broad versatility across work, off-road, and luxury use.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the newer used-truck sweet spot with stronger feature appeal and a still-reasonable market. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2024 is the better value path and still gives you the Sierra’s core flexibility.
