Used 2024 Ford Ranger for Sale nearOrleans, ON

How much does the 2024 Ford Ranger cost?

Prices have softened 9.97% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 120 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Ford Ranger earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It brings more power, more technology, more refinement, more space, and more choice than before, which broadens its appeal if you want a midsize truck that feels more versatile than purely utilitarian. The Ranger’s great handling and quiet cabin make it easier to live with day to day, especially if you split time between commuting and truck duties.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel cheap, and the touchscreen response is sluggish. Even so, the Ranger’s broader capability and stronger equipment spread make it a more complete midsize truck than the version it replaces.

With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Ranger is presented as a more complete and competitive midsize truck than the version it replaces, with added power, tech, refinement, and space. Its standard 2.3-litre turbo four-cylinder is described as more than sufficient, delivering swift and smooth acceleration at any speed, while the available V6 adds extra towing confidence for heavier use.

On the dependability side, the truck’s quiet and comfortable road manners, along with its secure steering, point to a well-sorted daily driving experience. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the cabin quality and slow touchscreen response may age less gracefully than the mechanical package.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is the most stripped-down version, and it does not come with any driver assists. The XLT adds more everyday convenience, while the Lariat brings a more upscale feel with a wider instrument panel, push-button start, and more advanced tech. The Raptor is the most specialised choice, with race-ready suspension hardware and a more serious off-road focus.
• Powertrain: You get multiple engine choices, starting with the 2.3-litre turbo inline-four and moving up to a 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6. The base engine is described as swift and smooth, while the V6 is the better pick if you plan to tow regularly.
• Safety package: The standard driver-assistance suite on XLT and above includes forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor, while the base XL does not get these assists.
• Infotainment: A 10-inch portrait touchscreen is standard on the XL and XLT in Canada, while a 12-inch screen comes on all other trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, but the menus are slow to load, and BlueCruise handsfree driving assist is not available.
• Fuel efficiency: The base four-cylinder is rated at 11.9 L/100 km in the city, 9.8 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.0 L/100 km combined. The V6 is rated at 12.6 L/100 km city, 10.2 L/100 km highway, and 11.5 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Ford Ranger trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Ranger is offered in 4 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the entry point, but it is the most bare-bones choice and lacks driver assists. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with a simpler setup.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the core safety equipment and keeps the Ranger’s useful tech and capability without pushing the price too far. If you want the sweet spot between value and equipment, start here.
• Lariat: Choose this if you want a more upscale Ranger with push-button start, a wider instrument panel, automatic parking features, and trailer-reversing assistance. It suits you best if comfort and convenience matter as much as capability.
• Raptor: This is the enthusiast pick, with race-ready suspension hardware and the most serious off-road character in the lineup. It is the right choice if you want the Ranger’s most extreme capability rather than the best value.

The safety package starts on the XLT, so that is the trim where most used buyers should begin their search.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 120 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.97% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,449 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Ranger's resale value?

The current average of $47,449 CAD sits slightly below last year's $52,703 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Ranger has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help demand in the near term. For a future seller, it also means there is less room for prices to keep falling if the market stabilises around current levels.

The Ranger’s broader appeal comes from its added power, tech, refinement, and space, which should help it stay relevant with shoppers who want a more versatile midsize truck. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger safe?

The 2024 Ranger has not been crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and previous model years tested by NHTSA and IIHS are not comparable.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard driver-assistance suite on XLT and above includes forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor.

A key caveat is that the base XL trim does not come with any driver assists, so you need to move up the range if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Ranger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the 2024 Ranger’s summary: it brings more power, tech, refinement, space, and choice, including new V6 engines and a Raptor trim.

The bottom line: If you want the most complete Ranger of this generation, the 2024 model is the one to target because it adds more capability and a wider spread of trims and powertrains. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may still want to compare nearby years, but the 2024’s softer pricing and stronger equipment make it the better all-around starting point.
