Used 2024 Ford Ranger for Sale nearOttawa, ON

How much does the 2024 Ford Ranger cost?

Prices have softened 11.34% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 131 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Ford Ranger earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It arrives as an all-new midsize pickup with more power, technology, refinement, space, and choice, which makes it a stronger fit if you want a truck that feels more capable and better equipped than before. The Ranger’s great handling and quiet cabin help it feel more polished than a typical work-focused truck, and its broader powertrain range gives you more flexibility depending on how you plan to use it.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel cheap, the touchscreen response is sluggish, and advanced safety features are not standard. Even so, the truck’s added capability and wider choice make it a compelling option if you want a midsize pickup with a more modern feel.

Only 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the best examples may take a little searching.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Ranger is presented as a more refined and more capable redesign, with a quieter cabin and stronger overall breadth than the previous generation. Its standard 2.3-litre turbo four-cylinder is described as swift and smooth, and the available 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6 adds more towing-focused muscle. That combination points to a truck built for everyday use as well as heavier-duty tasks.

The Ranger also benefits from a broader equipment spread than before, which can make it easier to find a version that suits your needs without overbuying. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-mileage trucks with more complex equipment and heavier use may show wear more quickly if they were worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is the most stripped-down version, and it does not include driver assists. The XLT adds more everyday convenience and safety equipment, while Lariat brings more premium tech and comfort features. If you want the best value, the XLT is the trim that most clearly balances equipment and price.
• Powertrain: You can choose between the standard 2.3-litre turbo inline-four and the optional 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6. The four-cylinder is described as swift and smooth, while the V6 is the better pick if you plan to tow more often.
• Safety package: XLT and above trims get standard forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor.
• Infotainment: The XL and XLT use a 10-inch portrait touchscreen in Canada, while all other trims get a 12-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, but the menus are slow to load.
• Fuel efficiency: The base four-cylinder is rated at 11.9 L/100 km in the city, 9.8 on the highway, and 11.0 combined. The V6 is rated at 12.6 L/100 km city, 10.2 highway, and 11.5 combined.

Which 2024 Ford Ranger trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Ranger is offered in 4 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Ranger’s standard 4WD setup at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the truck’s core capability and are willing to live without driver-assistance features.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it adds the key safety equipment that the XL misses, while still keeping the Ranger’s price and equipment mix relatively sensible.
• Lariat: This is the more upscale choice, with a wider 12.4-inch instrument panel, push-button start, automatic parking, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, and a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo.
• Raptor: This is the performance-focused off-road model, with a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6, 2.5-inch Fox shocks, 27-centimetre ground clearance, and front and rear locking differentials.

The XLT and above trims include the standard safety suite, while the XL does not.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 131 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,583 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Ranger's resale value?

The current average of $48,319 CAD sits slightly below last year's $54,498 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money today, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive used market if supply stays healthy. If you own one for several years, the Ranger’s broad capability and stronger equipment mix should help it remain appealing to midsize-truck shoppers. The biggest resale advantage will likely go to well-equipped examples with the right balance of mileage, condition, and trim.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger safe?

The 2024 Ranger has not been crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and previous model years tested by NHTSA and IIHS are not comparable.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Ranger’s standard safety equipment starts with the XLT trim, which adds forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard on the base XL, so you need to move up a trim if you want a fuller driver-assistance package.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Ranger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 Ranger brings more power, tech, refinement, space, and choice, including new V6 engines and a Raptor trim.

The bottom line: If you want the Ranger with the biggest step forward in capability and choice, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024’s broader powertrain range and improved refinement make it the stronger all-around pick.
