Used 2024 Ford Ranger for Sale nearMontreal, QC

How much does the 2024 Ford Ranger cost?

Prices have softened 12.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 133 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare trims and prices.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger a good car?

Yes — with a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating, the 2024 Ford Ranger looks like a stronger, more complete midsize truck than the version it replaces. Ford has broadened its appeal with more power, more technology, more refinement, more space, and more choice, and that matters if you want a truck that can do daily-duty work without feeling stripped down.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It also stands out for its great handling and quiet cabin, which should make it easier to live with day to day. The trade-offs are clear, though: the interior materials feel cheap, and the touchscreen response is sluggish.

With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is a meaningful amount of market flexibility if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Ranger is presented as a more capable and better equipped midsize truck than before, and its broader powertrain spread should help it suit a wider range of buyers. The standard 2.3-litre turbo four-cylinder is described as swift and smooth, while the optional 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6 is positioned as the better choice for constant towing. That kind of mechanical range can be a plus for durability-minded shoppers because you can choose the setup that best matches how you actually use the truck.

The performance notes also point to a quiet, comfortable on-road character, which usually helps reduce day-to-day wear and ownership fatigue. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the truck’s cheaper-feeling interior and sluggish touchscreen may age less gracefully than its powertrain and chassis strengths.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is the most stripped-down version, and it does not come with any driver assists. The XLT adds more everyday convenience and safety equipment, while Lariat and Raptor bring more premium tech and capability. If you want the best balance of equipment and value, the XLT is the trim to focus on.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 2.3-litre turbo inline-four with 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft, plus an optional 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6 with 315 hp and 400 lb-ft. The Raptor uses a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 with 405 hp and 430 lb-ft for serious off-road use.
• Safety package: XLT and above include standard forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor.
• Infotainment: A 10-inch portrait touchscreen is standard on XL and XLT in Canada, while a 12-inch screen comes on all other trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, and the larger display is paired with a more upscale interface on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The base four-cylinder is rated at 11.9 L/100 km in the city, 9.8 on the highway, and 11.0 combined. The V6 is rated at 12.6 L/100 km city, 10.2 highway, and 11.5 combined.

Which 2024 Ford Ranger trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Ranger is offered in 4 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the entry point, but it is very bare-bones and lacks driver assists. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with a simpler truck.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the key safety equipment missing from the XL and gives you a more complete daily-driver setup without jumping too far in price.
• Lariat: This is the trim to choose if you want a more upscale feel, with the wider 12.4-inch instrument panel, push-button start, automatic parking, and trailer-reversing tech.
• Raptor: This is the performance and off-road choice, with the twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6, Fox shocks, locking differentials, and the most serious hardware in the lineup.

The safety package starts on the XLT, so that is the trim where the Ranger becomes much easier to recommend for most used buyers.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some confidence if you are patient and price-aware.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 133 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.71% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,580 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Ranger's resale value?

The current average of $48,165 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,177 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you may need to be more competitive on condition, mileage, and trim to stand out. The good news is that the Ranger’s broader capability and stronger equipment spread should keep it relevant with shoppers who want a midsize truck that feels more modern than the old formula.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger safe?

The 2024 Ranger has not been crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and previous model years tested by NHTSA and IIHS are not comparable.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s standard safety suite starts on the XLT and includes forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor. The main caveat is that the base XL does not come with any driver assists, so safety equipment is not evenly spread across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Ranger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 brings more power, more technology, more refinement, more space, and more choice than the previous Ranger.

The bottom line: If you want the most complete Ranger of this generation, the 2024 is the one to target because it adds meaningful breadth in powertrain choice and equipment. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but you will give up some of the 2024’s added capability and tech.
