Used 2024 Ford Ranger for Sale nearKingston, ON

How much does the 2024 Ford Ranger cost?

Prices have softened 13.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 126 listings available, which suggests you have a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger a good car?

Yes — you get a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for used-truck shoppers. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

The 2024 Ranger is positioned as an all-new midsize truck with more power, more technology, more refinement, more space, and more choice than before. That makes it a stronger fit if you want a versatile pickup that can handle daily driving and work duties without feeling stripped down.

Key trade-offs: the interior materials feel cheap, and the touchscreen response is sluggish. Advanced safety features are not standard, so you may need to shop higher trims if those matter to you.

With 31.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to find a well-priced example.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Ranger is described as a more complete and competitive midsize truck than the version it replaces, with a quieter cabin and stronger overall capability. Its standard 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder and optional 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6 both use regular fuel, and the truck’s powertrain lineup is built around smooth, useful performance rather than complexity for its own sake.

The Ranger’s ownership risk for used buyers is mainly tied to trim choice and condition, since the cabin quality and tech execution are not as polished as the rest of the package.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is the most stripped-down version, and it does not come with any driver assists. The XLT adds more equipment, while the Lariat brings a more upscale feel with features like a wider instrument panel, push-button start, and more advanced convenience tech.
• Powertrain: You can choose between the standard 2.3-litre turbo inline-four and an optional 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6. The four-cylinder is described as swift and smooth, while the V6 is the better pick if you plan to tow more often.
• Safety package: The XLT and above trims get standard forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor.
• Infotainment: The XL and XLT use a 10-inch portrait touchscreen in Canada, while all other trims get a 12-inch display. The menus are slow to load, and BlueCruise handsfree driving assist is not available.
• Fuel efficiency: The base four-cylinder is rated at 11.9 L/100 km in the city, 9.8 on the highway, and 11.0 combined. The V6 is rated at 12.6 L/100 km city, 10.2 highway, and 11.5 combined.

Which 2024 Ford Ranger trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Ranger is offered in 4 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the entry point, but it is also the most bare-bones. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and do not mind giving up driver-assistance features.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the core safety equipment and a better overall feature mix without jumping too far in price.
• Lariat: This is the right choice if you want a more premium-feeling Ranger, with a wider instrument panel, push-button start, parking assistance, and trailer-reversing tech.
• Raptor: This is the performance and off-road-focused choice, with a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6, 2.5-inch Fox shocks, 27-centimetre ground clearance, and front and rear locking differentials.

The safety package starts on the XLT, so that is the trim to target if you want the best balance of value and standard protection.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards patience and comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 126 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.62% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,605 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Ranger's resale value?

The current average of $47,988 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,556 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key question is whether the Ranger’s broader capability and stronger equipment mix will keep demand steady enough to offset the softer pricing trend.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger safe?

The 2024 Ranger has not been crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and previous model years tested by NHTSA and IIHS are not comparable.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s driver-assistance suite starts on the XLT and includes forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor.

The main caveat is that the base XL trim does not come with any driver assists, so safety equipment is not evenly spread across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Ranger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 brings more power, more technology, more refinement, more space, and more choice than the previous Ranger.

The bottom line: If you want the most complete Ranger of this generation, the 2024 model is the one to focus on because it adds meaningful breadth in powertrain choice, tech, and capability. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but you will give up some of the 2024’s added polish and options.
