Is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and it fits a truck that blends everyday practicality with a performance-minded identity. The overview also frames it as the first series-production full-size electric pickup, which gives it a distinctive place in Ford history and makes it more than just another electric truck. At the same time, its appeal is tied to character and heritage as much as utility, so it suits you best if you want a truck with a memorable badge and a clear enthusiast angle.

31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent share of attractive options to consider.

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a truck with a strong identity and broad appeal, especially if you value the Lightning name’s performance heritage and the way it carries Ford’s truck familiarity into the electric era. It also points to trade-offs, including limited usefulness as a working truck and grim fuel economy, which means reliability for you may be less about mechanical simplicity and more about whether the truck fits your daily needs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is buying into a niche vehicle whose strengths are distinctive, but whose compromises may matter more over time if you need maximum utility.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 127 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 7.61% year-over-year.

If you find a listing below $54,336 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning's resale value?

The current average of $65,473 CAD sits slightly above last year's $60,843 CAD.

That upward move suggests the market is still willing to pay for this truck’s mix of electric novelty and Ford performance heritage. If you own one, that can support resale confidence, especially if your truck is well kept and presented clearly to shoppers who want something distinctive. The limited inventory also helps keep attention on the model, which can support pricing when demand stays steady.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 7.61% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-market availability, positive owner sentiment, and a model year that still carries the Lightning’s distinctive identity, the 2024 is the one to focus on. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and prioritise the listing that lands closest to your budget while still giving you the features and condition you want.
