Used 2024 Ford Escape for Sale nearSudbury, ON

How much does the 2024 Ford Escape cost?

Prices have softened 14.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 668 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Ford Escape earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

The Escape’s appeal comes from its breadth of powertrain choices, comfortable ride, and impressive technology. It is best suited to you if you prioritise comfort and tech over cabin quality and practicality. The trade-offs are clear: interior materials feel cheap, cargo space is uncompetitive, and value for money is weak.

With 37.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Escape’s familiar design and carryover status after a substantial 2023 update suggest a mature product rather than a risky redesign. Its standard Ford Co-Pilot360 suite and broad equipment list also point to a well-developed ownership experience. The performance content highlights a comfortable, compliant driving character, which can be a plus for day-to-day dependability.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Escape’s value proposition and cabin quality may age less gracefully than its technology.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Escape?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The trim lineup includes Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, Platinum, ST-Line Elite, and Plug-in Hybrid. The Base trim appears to have been dropped, so you should pay close attention to what equipment is included on the lower trims, especially since the cabin can feel less upscale than the price suggests.
• Powertrain: You can find a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder with 180 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque, a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, and a hybrid powertrain expected to return 6.0 L/100 km in combined driving. The turbo 2.0-litre is quick, but the content suggests the hybrid is the smarter efficiency play.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, with forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and post-collision automatic braking. Higher trims can add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, predictive speed assist, evasive steering assist, lane-centring assist, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: Lower trims use an 8-inch display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, and FordPass Connect services. Upper trims get a 12.3-inch digital display, and the 13.2-inch Sync 4 system adds connected navigation. The layout is intuitive, but the screen can look washed out and climate controls are integrated into the display.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged 2.0-litre AWD setup is rated at 8.4 L/100 km in combined driving, while the FWD version is rated at 8.0 L/100 km. The hybrid is rated at 6.0 L/100 km in combined driving.

Which 2024 Ford Escape trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Escape is offered in 6 trim levels: Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, Platinum, ST-Line Elite, and Plug-in Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• Active: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the Escape’s core comfort and technology without paying for the pricier turbo 2.0-litre setup.
• ST-Line: This is the best-value trim if you want a sportier look and the available hybrid powertrain without moving too far up the price ladder.
• ST-Line Select: This trim adds the stronger 2.0-litre turbo and AWD, but the content suggests that powertrain is not the best value for most shoppers.
• Platinum: This is the more upscale choice, but the content does not make a strong case for it over the better-value lower trims.
• ST-Line Elite: This trim brings the loaded test-vehicle experience, including the larger display and available Premium Technology Package content, but it is expensive for the class.
• Plug-in Hybrid: This is the efficiency-focused choice if you want electric-only driving range and lots of standard equipment, though it comes only with FWD.

For safety equipment, Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard across the lineup, while some advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 668 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.65% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,372 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $28,506 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,400 CAD.

That decline suggests the Escape is currently in a softer pricing phase, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. A lower entry price today can also mean less depreciation pressure in the near term if the market stabilises. For a future seller, the key question is whether the model’s technology and comfort remain compelling enough to support demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape safe?

The 2024 Escape earns five-star ratings across the board, aside from a four-star rollover resistance rating from NHTSA. In 2023, the SUV earned Good ratings from the IIHS except for a Marginal score in a new side-impact safety test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and post-collision automatic braking. Higher trims can add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, predictive speed assist, evasive steering assist, lane-centring assist, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.

The main caveat is that some of the advanced assistance systems were inconsistent in testing, especially lane-keeping and predictive speed assist.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over the 2023 update, with improved styling, updated technology, and enhanced safety features.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,780 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $28,506 CAD average.
• It offers an upscale look and a tech-forward approach.

The bottom line: choose the 2024 if you want the latest version of the updated Escape and are shopping the softer market. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value path, especially if you find one with the equipment you want.
