Used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD for Sale nearMontreal, QC

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 4.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 306 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable range of trucks to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating, which points to a strong overall showing. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners most often praise its strong performance, ride quality, and appearance, while also appreciating the range of options available. The truck’s broader appeal comes from its powerful engine, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and excellent off-road ability, which make it feel less purely work-focused than many heavy-duty pickups.

The main trade-offs are that some buyers want more advanced features and technology, and the stereo is lacking. It also falls short of some competitors in towing capacity, so you should weigh that against how you plan to use it.

With 33.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market offers a decent number of attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels strong, dependable, and capable of being counted on, especially for buyers who value performance and a broad range of configurations. The expert review also highlights the Duramax diesel’s quiet operation and smooth pairing with the 10-speed automatic, which supports the impression of a well-sorted powertrain.

Chevrolet’s 3-year/60,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty and 5-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain coverage help, but used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how hard the truck was worked.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The truck is offered in six trims: Work Truck (or WT), Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country and the off-road-specific ZR2. The base Work Truck is plain but still handsome, while higher trims add more upscale exterior detailing, with the LTZ and High Country bringing chrome-heavy styling and the ZR2 blacking out the grille with Chevrolet’s “flow tie” badging. If you want the most upscale cabin, the High Country stands out with open-pore wood, leather trim, metal accents, and embroidery.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 6.6-litre V8 gas engine with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, or an optional 6.6-litre Duramax turbodiesel V8 with 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. Both pair with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission, and the diesel is described as remarkably quiet and smooth.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is optional on all trims, even High Country, and GM’s Safety Seat and Teen Driver technology are also part of the safety story.
• Infotainment: Starting on the LT trim, you get a 12.3-inch configurable gauge cluster and a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and Google built-in adds Google Maps, the Play store, and Google Assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: In testing, the truck returned 11.6 litres per 100 kilometres in 2WD over about 150 kilometres, and 13.8 L/100 km over a 400-kilometre mix of 2WD and Auto 4WD.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is offered in 6 trim levels: Work Truck (or WT), Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Work Truck (or WT): This is the most basic version, and it makes sense if you want the Silverado 2500HD’s core capability without paying for extra polish. It’s plain, but it still gets the truck’s fundamental heavy-duty hardware.
• Custom: This trim adds a body-coloured horizontal grille bar and a bit more visual presence, making it a better fit if you want a little more style without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, the 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google built-in.
• LTZ: Choose this if you want a more upscale look and feel, with chrome-heavy exterior treatment and more premium cabin presentation.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the richest interior materials and the most polished overall presentation.
• ZR2: This is the off-road-focused pick, and it’s the one to choose if trail capability matters most. It adds the most serious hardware in the lineup, including Multimatic DSSV spool valve shocks, 35-inch tires, a lift, skid plating, and steel bumpers.

Standard safety equipment is limited compared with some rivals, and adaptive cruise control remains optional across the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 306 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.43% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $68,368 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $68,368 CAD sits slightly below last year's $71,535 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests future sellers may need to be realistic if they want to move a truck quickly. The current market is still healthy, but it does not point to strong appreciation in the near term.

If you own a well-kept example with desirable equipment, you should still have decent demand, especially because the Silverado 2500HD combines heavy-duty capability with strong owner satisfaction. Trucks with broad appeal and a solid reputation tend to hold buyer interest better than more niche alternatives.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. GM’s Safety Seat is also notable, and it can alert you through the seat if traffic ahead suddenly slows. Teen Driver technology is included as well, letting you monitor younger drivers and set limits.

A key caveat is that several advanced safety features are not standard, and adaptive cruise control remains optional even on the top High Country trim.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• This year’s refresh brings better styling and a new off-road trim that moves the truck closer to its main rival.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of updated styling, broader appeal, and a more competitive heavy-duty package, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but you’ll be giving up some of the 2024’s refresh benefits.
