Used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD for Sale nearLaval, QC

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 5.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 297 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD earns a 4.33/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its strong performance, ride quality, and aesthetics, and they also appreciate the range of options available. The truck’s mid-cycle refresh, better styling, and new off-road trim help it feel more competitive, especially if you want a capable work truck with modern convenience and trail-ready character.

The trade-offs are that it can feel overpriced, and some buyers will want more advanced features and technology. It also falls short of some competitors in towing capacity.

With 35.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels strong, dependable, and capable of handling demanding use with confidence. That kind of praise matters for a heavy-duty pickup, especially if you plan to keep it for the long haul.

Chevrolet also backs the truck with a 3-year/60,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper limited warranty and a 5-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the truck’s higher running costs and feature gaps fit your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Work Truck is the plainest version, while the Custom adds a body-coloured grille bar, the LT swaps in a chrome bar, and the LTZ and High Country add a more upscale grille treatment and C-shaped headlamps. The ZR2 is the off-road-specific trim, and the High Country stands out for its more premium cabin materials and finish. If you want the best-value trim, the LT is the one to focus on because it brings the major tech upgrade without jumping all the way to the luxury end.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 6.6-litre V8 with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, or an available 6.6-litre Duramax turbodiesel V8 with 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft. Both use an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. The diesel is the stronger choice if you want maximum pulling confidence and quieter highway cruising.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is optional on all trims, even the High Country, so make sure the truck you’re considering has the driver-assistance features you want.
• Infotainment: Starting on the LT trim, you get a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch configurable gauge cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with Google built-in. The system is easy to use, but the screen stays in split mode.
• Fuel efficiency: In testing, the truck returned 11.6 L/100 km in 2WD over about 150 kilometres and 13.8 L/100 km over a 400-kilometre mix of 2WD and Auto 4WD.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is offered in 6 trim levels: Work Truck (or WT), Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Work Truck (or WT): This is the most basic choice, aimed at buyers who want the Silverado’s core heavy-duty capability without extra frills. It makes sense if you care most about utility and price.
• Custom: This trim adds a body-coloured grille bar and a bit more visual polish, so it’s a step up if you want a truck that looks less bare-bones without moving too far up the price ladder.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it brings the major tech upgrade, including the 13.4-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital cluster, plus wireless smartphone integration and Google built-in.
• LTZ: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and more chrome-heavy styling, along with a more premium presentation than the LT.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the richest cabin materials and the most polished look. It suits you best if comfort and appearance matter as much as capability.
• ZR2: This is the one to buy if off-road ability is your priority. It’s the dedicated trail-focused trim, and the available Bison package makes it especially serious for rough terrain.

Standard safety equipment is limited compared with some rivals, and adaptive cruise control remains optional across the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 297 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.95% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $68,704 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $69,469 CAD sits slightly below last year's $73,867 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests buyers have more leverage today than they did a year ago. For a future seller, it also means you may need to be realistic about pricing if you want to move the truck quickly.

The Silverado 2500HD still has strong appeal because it combines heavy-duty capability with a broad feature set and a desirable off-road variant. That should help support demand, especially for well-equipped trims and trucks with the diesel powertrain.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. GM’s Safety Seat is also available on the test truck, and it can alert you with seat vibration if traffic ahead slows suddenly.

Adaptive cruise control is optional on all trims, even the High Country. GM also includes Buckle to Drive and Teen Driver technology, which can help manage younger drivers and encourage safer habits.

The main caveat is that not all advanced safety features come standard, so you’ll want to check carefully for the exact equipment on any used example.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• This year’s refresh brings better styling and a new off-road trim that pushes the Silverado 2500HD closer to its top rival.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of updated styling, modern tech, and serious heavy-duty capability, the 2024 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may still find better value by shopping carefully within this year’s softer market, especially if you can live without the newest trim and feature updates.
