The current average of $44,947 CAD sits slightly below last year's $49,589 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying well below the current average matters more than usual. Strong demand for well-priced examples should help support value, especially if the vehicle remains in good condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Cadillac XT5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,542 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $44,947 CAD average.
• It offers strong value with a spacious cabin and broad appeal.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the current market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the better value-focused alternative.
