It also keeps the practical advantages you expect from this body style, including a high seating position and easy access, while remaining a more affordable alternative to BMW’s larger SUV. The 2024 BMW X3 is described as a polished, premium SUV with strong powertrains, high-quality interiors, and technology that was advanced for its time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that premium vehicles can bring higher maintenance and repair costs than non-luxury alternatives.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW X3?

It’s a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 399 listings available.

If you find a listing below $46,486 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $47,733 CAD sits slightly below last year's $48,672 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also suggests future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. If you plan to resell later, the current trend points to a model that is holding value reasonably well rather than appreciating. Strong demand from shoppers who want a sporty, premium SUV should still support interest over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $61,671 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $47,733 CAD average.
• The redesign brings a more distinctive minimalist cabin and updated technology.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the better value and a proven formula that blends sporty driving, premium character, and everyday practicality. Consider the 2025 if you’re willing to pay more for the redesigned model’s newer look and updated cabin, but price-sensitive buyers will likely find the 2024 the smarter purchase.
