How much does the 2023 Toyota Venza cost?

Is the 2023 Toyota Venza a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Toyota Venza earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 8/10.

It stands out as a stylish, fuel-efficient midsize SUV alternative, with a sharp exterior and a cabin that leans more luxury-adjacent than purely utilitarian. That makes it a strong fit if you want practical everyday transportation without giving up a polished look or a comfortable driving experience.

The trade-offs are clear: cargo space is limited, and performance is only middling, so it suits you best if style, comfort, and efficiency matter more than maximum utility or brisk acceleration. The market also shows 33.7% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Toyota Venza reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Venza’s hybrid setup and smooth, easygoing character support its reputation for dependable everyday use. Its powertrain is described as seamless in operation, with electric motors providing immediate response and the gasoline engine blending in without fuss.

The fuel-saving hybrid system is also a practical ownership advantage, and the model’s advanced safety features function as they should, with no false alarms reported in testing. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about whether the limited cargo space and modest performance still suit your needs over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Venza?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE is the most basic version, while the XLE adds a larger touchscreen, roof rails, simulated leather upholstery, and some safety enhancements. The Limited adds the most convenience and visibility tech, so the base trim is where you’ll feel the biggest feature gaps.
• Powertrain: You’re getting a 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid system with 219 horsepower, a CVT, and standard all-wheel drive. It’s tuned for smooth, efficient driving rather than sporty response.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard, with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure assist, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, and a traffic sign reader. The XLE adds front and rear parking proximity sensors and reverse automatic emergency braking, while the Limited adds a surround-view camera, head-up display, and digital rearview mirror.
• Infotainment: The LE gets an 8-inch touchscreen, while the XLE and above upgrade to a 12.3-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with wireless charging and a newer infotainment system with sharp graphics and quick responses.
• Fuel efficiency: It’s estimated at 5.9 L/100 km in the city, 6.4 L/100 km on the highway, and 6.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 Toyota Venza trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Venza is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, XLE, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Venza experience with the hybrid powertrain, standard all-wheel drive, wireless smartphone integration, and the standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but you’ll miss the larger screen and some of the nicer convenience features.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim because it adds the 12.3-inch touchscreen, roof rails, simulated leather upholstery, and extra safety equipment for a reasonable step up. If you want the sweet spot between price and features, this is the one to target.
• Limited: This is the most fully equipped version, adding the surround-view camera, head-up display, digital rearview mirror, and premium audio. It suits you best if you want the most convenience and visibility tech in the lineup.

All 2023 Toyota Venzas come with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ as standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Venza?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 92 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $39,598 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Venza's resale value?

The current average of $40,144 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,732 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, which can make future resale a little more challenging if prices continue to soften. Even so, the Venza’s efficient hybrid powertrain and upscale appeal should help it hold interest among shoppers who value comfort and style.

If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation later, especially if you choose a trim that balances features and price. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Toyota Venza safe?

The 2023 Toyota Venza earns five-star ratings in overall and side crash protection, and four-star ratings in frontal and rollover protection from NHTSA. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated it Good across the board except for the new side impact test, where it earned Acceptable, and it was named a Top Safety Pick.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure assist, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, and a traffic sign reader. Higher trims add parking sensors, reverse automatic emergency braking, a surround-view camera, a head-up display, and a digital rearview mirror.

The main caveat is the IIHS side impact result, which is a step below the Venza’s otherwise strong crash-test performance.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Venza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines sharp styling with a luxury-leaning interior and class-leading fuel efficiency.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $33,394 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $40,144 CAD average.
• It offers a hybrid-first approach with standard all-wheel drive and strong efficiency.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2023 if you want the latest pricing context and the same core strengths in style, comfort, and efficiency. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the better value path.
