That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Model Y more attractive to buyers today but may also mean future sellers need to be realistic on asking price. If you buy now, you may be entering at a more favourable point than owners who purchased when prices were higher. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand later, especially for a model that already has broad appeal among EV shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2023 Model Y is the better path if you want a well-liked used EV with strong owner satisfaction, solid pricing momentum, and enough inventory to compare options. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to look at nearby model years and compare the exact features and asking prices side by side before deciding.
