Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Tesla Model Y?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 24.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 152 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.50% compared with last year.

What is the 2024 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $48,247 CAD sits slightly below last year's $52,157 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can make the model more approachable for you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped relative to similar listings. A softer market can create more competition when you eventually list the car, so buying at the right price matters.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 24.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2024 if you want a well-equipped used EV with strong practicality, standard all-wheel drive, and a market that has become a bit more favourable for buyers. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 remains the better fit if you want the balance of features, range, and usability described here.
