Used 2023 Subaru WRX for Sale nearNepean, ON

How much does the 2023 Subaru WRX cost?

Prices have softened 4.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 242 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — you get a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for shoppers who want a rally-inspired compact sedan with all-wheel drive and an engaging personality. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The WRX’s strengths are clear: it has stylish design, great handling, and a manual transmission is available. Those traits make it appealing to you if you prioritise driving enjoyment and character over practicality and easy-to-use tech.

The trade-offs matter too: the technology is described as unintuitive, it is considered poor value for money, and it offers less cargo space than rivals. Even so, 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The WRX’s appeal is built around a durable-feeling, basic interior and a formula that has stayed consistent for 2023, with no changes to report. Its standard all-wheel drive and available manual transmission also support the sense that it is engineered for enthusiastic use rather than novelty.

The performance setup is straightforward: a 2.4-litre turbocharged boxer engine, AWD, and either a 6-speed manual or optional CVT. That simplicity can be a plus for long-term ownership, but the performance focus means you should still budget carefully for fuel and maintenance if you plan to drive it hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Subaru WRX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base models get 17-inch alloy wheels and other WRX trims get 18-inch wheels, with standard summer tires in all cases. The top Sport-Tech trim adds a 10-way adjustable bucket driver’s seat, a 4-way manual front passenger seat, Ultrasuede upholstery, and red stitching, while lower trims use cloth with red stitching.
• Powertrain: The WRX uses a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine with 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. You get a standard 6-speed manual transmission, while the optional CVT is branded as Subaru Performance Transmission.
• Safety package: EyeSight driver assist technology is only available with the CVT and adds adaptive cruise control, automated lane-centring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist are available with both transmissions on the Sport and Sport-Tech trims, along with LED fog lights. Opting for the CVT on those trims also adds reverse automatic braking.
• Infotainment: Base models get a pair of 7-inch touchscreens, while WRX Sport and Sport-Tech trims get an 11.6-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the top Sport-Tech trim adds an 11-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system with subwoofer and amplifier.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada ratings are 10.8 litres per 100 kilometres combined with the manual transmission and 11.2 L/100 km combined with the CVT.

Which 2023 Subaru WRX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Subaru WRX is offered in 3 trim levels: base, Sport, and Sport-Tech.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the value play if you want the WRX’s core appeal without paying for extras. You still get the 2.4-litre turbo engine, standard all-wheel drive, a manual transmission, and the model’s distinctive styling and handling character.
• Sport: This is the trim that makes the most sense for many buyers because it adds the larger 11.6-inch touchscreen and unlocks the optional CVT plus EyeSight. If you want more convenience and available driver assistance, this is the one to focus on.
• Sport-Tech: Choose this if you want the most equipment, including the Ultrasuede-lined seating, the 10-way adjustable driver’s seat, and the premium Harman Kardon audio system. It suits you best if you want the most upscale WRX experience.

EyeSight is only available with the CVT, and blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist are available on the Sport and Sport-Tech trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully before committing.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 242 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $30,905 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $30,905 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,527 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the WRX is currently more accessible to used buyers than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that means you may face a more competitive market if pricing rises slowly or stays flat.

The WRX’s niche appeal helps support demand, especially among shoppers who want all-wheel drive and a manual transmission. If you keep the car in strong condition and price it realistically, that enthusiast interest should help preserve value better than a more ordinary compact sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX safe?

The 2023 WRX hasn't completed the most up-to-date battery of Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) tests, but it received top "Good" scores in all crash tests completed so far. It also received the highest "Superior" score for front-crash prevention tech in vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian daylight scenario. The standard headlights were rated "Acceptable," while the headlights available on Sport-Tech model got the "Good" rating. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2023 WRX a five-star overall safety rating, including five stars in frontal, side, and rollover crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The available EyeSight driver assist suite is notable for using stereo cameras mounted behind the windshield, and it adds adaptive cruise control, automated lane-centring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist are also available on Sport and Sport-Tech trims, with reverse automatic braking added when you choose the CVT on those trims.

Should I buy a 2023 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 carries over the current formula with no changes, so you’re shopping the established version of this generation.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,270 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $30,905 CAD average.
• It delivers a performance-and-all-weather-practicality mix that remains hard to match.

The bottom line: If you want the most current version of this generation’s formula, the 2023 is the cleaner choice. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable with a slightly older model year, the 2022 is the better value path.
