Used 2023 Subaru WRX for Sale nearBarrie, ON

How much does the 2023 Subaru WRX cost?

Prices have softened 4.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 241 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Subaru WRX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out as a rally-inspired compact performance sedan with a distinctive design, standard manual transmission availability, and handling that’s a clear strength. For you, that means it suits shopping if you want something sportier than the typical compact car and still usable as a daily driver.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: its technology can be unintuitive, it is seen as poor value for money, and it offers less cargo space than rivals.

With 33.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s a meaningful share of the market that may be worth your attention.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The WRX’s appeal is built around an established formula rather than a major 2023 update, which can be reassuring if you want a proven model year. Its basic construction is described as likely to hold up to years of use, and the available manual transmission gives you a straightforward, enthusiast-friendly setup.

The performance hardware is also well matched, with the turbocharged boxer engine and AWD system delivering confident, predictable driving. Subaru’s warranty coverage is fairly standard, and that can help reduce early ownership uncertainty.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a performance-focused car can be more sensitive to hard use, so service history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Subaru WRX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base models get 17-inch alloy wheels, while other WRX trims get 18-inch wheels and standard summer tires. The top Sport-Tech trim adds a 10-way adjustable bucket driver’s seat, a 4-way manual front passenger seat, Ultrasuede upholstery, and red stitching.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine with 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. A standard 6-speed manual is offered, and an optional CVT is available on Sport and Sport-Tech trims.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight driver assist technology is available only with the CVT and adds adaptive cruise control, automated lane-centring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist are available on Sport and Sport-Tech trims, and reverse automatic braking comes with the CVT on those trims.
• Infotainment: Base models get a pair of 7-inch touchscreens, while Sport and Sport-Tech trims get an 11.6-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The manual transmission is rated at 10.8 L/100 km combined, while the CVT is rated at 11.2 L/100 km combined. Subaru recommends 93-octane fuel.

Which 2023 Subaru WRX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Subaru WRX is offered in 3 trim levels: base, Sport, and Sport-Tech.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the value play if you want the WRX’s core strengths — the manual transmission, AWD, and performance character — without paying for extra equipment you may not need.
• Sport: This is the trim to focus on if you want the best balance of equipment and usability, especially because it unlocks the CVT and EyeSight while adding the larger 11.6-inch touchscreen.
• Sport-Tech: Choose this if you want the most comfort and convenience, including the Ultrasuede interior, upgraded driver’s seat, and the premium audio system.

The Sport trim is the best-value choice for most shoppers, while the Sport-Tech makes sense if you want the most upscale WRX experience. EyeSight is available only with the CVT, and it is limited to the Sport and Sport-Tech trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 241 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.26% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,139 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $31,184 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,572 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more selectively now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone.

Because the WRX has a distinct enthusiast following and a strong identity, well-kept examples should continue to attract interest. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX safe?

The 2023 WRX earns top "Good" scores in all crash tests completed so far from IIHS, and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, including five stars in frontal, side, and rollover crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Subaru’s EyeSight driver assist technology is available only with the CVT and includes adaptive cruise control, automated lane-centring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Other available safety features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, and reverse automatic braking on CVT-equipped Sport and Sport-Tech trims.

One caveat to keep in mind is that the standard headlights were rated "Acceptable," while the Sport-Tech headlights were rated "Good."

Should I buy a 2023 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the WRX’s rally-bred formula intact with no changes for the year.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,357 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $31,184 CAD average.
• It offers a strong blend of performance and all-weather practicality at a lower price.

The bottom line: If you want the current-year WRX with a stable formula and a healthier used-market price trend, the 2023 is the cleaner pick. If your priority is saving money and you still want the WRX’s core performance-and-practicality mix, the 2022 is the better value path.
