Is the 2023 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Nissan Sentra earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which lines up with its focus on value, comfort, and everyday usability. It is best suited to you if you want a straightforward compact sedan with a polished look, a strong safety feature set, and useful standard technology rather than outright performance. Is the 2023 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Sentra’s appeal comes from its emphasis on comfort, safety equipment, and practical daily transportation. For used buyers, that usually points to a lower-risk ownership experience if you value predictable commuting over sporty driving.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 598 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.30% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,394 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $20,394 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,993 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend suggests you should expect value to depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market appreciation. A well-kept example should still attract interest because the Sentra’s value-focused positioning remains easy for shoppers to understand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,851 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,394 CAD average.
• It offers a balanced, broadly capable daily-driver character.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $21,755 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $20,394 CAD average.
• It brings refreshed styling and improved fuel economy.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of value, comfort, and available inventory, the 2023 is the primary year to target. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the better price-first alternative, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer look and can justify the higher asking price.
