How much does the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder cost?

Prices have softened 11.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 478 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.7/5, and the expert rating is 8.17/10. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the stylish design, comfortable interior, and especially the second-row seating, along with the sound system. The Pathfinder also gets credit for its roomy cabin, usable third row, and strong mix of tech and safety features.

The trade-offs are a high starting price and a ride that can be hard to balance, plus a shifter design that some drivers may find confusing. It fits you best if you want a family-focused midsize SUV that can handle commuting, road trips, and everyday hauling without losing its tougher look.

Only 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than flooded with bargains.

Owners describe it as comfortable, dependable, and good for long-term use, with praise for its solid utility and everyday livability. The expert assessment also points to a smooth, quiet powertrain and a vehicle that feels well suited to regular family duty.

The ownership risk for used buyers is more about feature satisfaction and drivability quirks than outright durability concerns.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Nissan Pathfinder?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim gives you AWD, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen, while the SV adds a panoramic moonroof, surround-view monitor, LED fog lamps, and a motion-activated power liftgate. The Rock Creek adds a more rugged look, off-road tuned suspension, all-terrain tires, a heavy-duty roof cargo rack, and water-repellent interior materials. The SL adds leather seats, a 10-way power passenger seat, wireless charging, and ProPILOT Assist with traffic sign recognition and navigation integration. The SL Premium adds 20-inch wheels, a head-up display, and a Bose premium audio system, while the Platinum adds second-row captain’s chairs, heated and ventilated front seats, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-litre V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic and standard AWD. The Rock Creek version is tuned to 295 hp and 270 lb-ft, and it adds off-road shocks and a slightly taller suspension.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward and reverse collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, rear parking sensors, driver-attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and ProPilot Assist with lane centring and adaptive cruise control. The SV adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree parking monitor, the SL adds traffic-sign recognition and navigation-linked ProPilot Assist, and the Platinum adds rain-sensing wipers.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SL, SL Premium, and Platinum upgrade to a 9-inch screen. You also get Bluetooth, satellite radio, voice recognition, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, while the SL adds wireless device charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The Pathfinder returns 11.6 L/100 km in city driving, 9.2 L/100 km on the highway, and 10.5 L/100 km combined. The Rock Creek is slightly thirstier at 11.9 L/100 km city, 10.0 L/100 km highway, and 11.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in 6 trim levels: S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, SL Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, but it still gives you AWD, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, and the standard safety and infotainment setup. It makes sense if you want the Pathfinder’s core space and capability without paying for extras.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a panoramic moonroof, surround-view monitor, LED fog lamps, and a power liftgate, while also unlocking the higher towing-capacity setup. If you want a more complete family SUV, this is the sweet spot.
• Rock Creek: Choose this if you want the rugged look and the added trail-focused hardware, including off-road tuned suspension, all-terrain tires, a heavy-duty roof rack, and water-repellent interior materials. It suits you best if you value the tougher personality and occasional off-pavement use.
• SL: This trim adds ProPILOT Assist with traffic-sign recognition and navigation integration, leather seats, a power passenger seat, and wireless charging. It is the right pick if you want a more upscale daily driver with useful convenience upgrades.
• SL Premium: This is for you if you want the larger 9-inch screen plus the head-up display and Bose audio system. It builds on the SL with more comfort and tech polish.
• Platinum: This is the top choice if you want the most premium Pathfinder, with second-row captain’s chairs, heated and ventilated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, and rain-sensing wipers. It is the most luxurious version, but not the most value-focused.

The safety package is broad across the range, with the SV adding front parking sensors and a 360-degree monitor, the SL adding traffic-sign recognition, and the Platinum adding rain-sensing wipers.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Pathfinder?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 478 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.82% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,759 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $37,759 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,818 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong demand for family SUVs with space, safety, and utility should still support interest from future shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder safe?

The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward and reverse collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, rear parking sensors, driver-attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and ProPilot Assist with lane centring and adaptive cruise control. The SV adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree parking monitor, the SL adds traffic-sign recognition and navigation-linked ProPilot Assist, and the Platinum adds rain-sensing wipers.

One caveat is that NHTSA has not completed a full suite of crash tests on this model year, so the strongest published crash result comes from IIHS.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds the Rock Creek edition, giving you a more rugged option in the lineup.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $33,335 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $37,759 CAD average.
• It brings a rugged-looking body style and thoughtful features that make it feel distinctive.

The bottom line: If you want the newer year with the Rock Creek addition and a softer market price, the 2023 is the better all-round pick. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the smarter path and still gives you much of the Pathfinder’s core appeal.
