How much does the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE cost?

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a midsize luxury SUV that blends prestige, performance and practicality, with a high-quality interior and top-rate technology. The ride quality is a major strength, and the handling is described as agile, which helps it feel composed without giving up everyday usefulness.

The main trade-offs are that AMG models are thirsty and expensive, and options can quickly push the price upward. It also suits buyers who want comfort and versatility in a luxury SUV, rather than a stripped-down value play.

There are 35.8% good or great deals in the market, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLE is presented as a well-built luxury SUV with a cabin that feels robust and a driving experience that stays quiet and refined. Its powertrain and transmission are described as seamless, and the suspension is praised for soaking up bumps and rough pavement without getting unsettled.

The plug-in hybrid setup also adds a layer of flexibility for buyers who want short-trip electric driving without giving up long-distance usability. The regenerative brakes are a minor weak point, but the overall package points to a vehicle that should feel reassuring in daily use.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that luxury features and complex options can raise repair and upkeep exposure over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GLE 350 4Matic is the value-oriented choice, while higher trims add more power and equipment. The cabin quality is strong across the range, but the more expensive versions can escalate quickly once options are added.
• Powertrain: You can choose from turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines, plus the GLE 450e plug-in hybrid with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, electric motor and 23.3-kWh battery pack. The hybrid is the sweet spot for acceleration, suspension tuning, handling and fuel economy.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, pedestrian detection, hands-free park assist, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high-beam headlights and a driver attention monitor. Active blind-spot assist, active lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, traffic sign recognition, active lane change assist and evasive steering assist are optional.
• Infotainment: You get a pair of 12.3-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth and an improved voice command system. The system is feature-rich, and the optional head-up display with augmented reality navigation adds convenience.
• Fuel efficiency: The plug-in hybrid is rated at 4.1 litres-equivalent per 100 kilometres, or 10.5 city/9.1 highway/9.9 combined in hybrid mode.

Which 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in 3 trim levels: GLE 350 4Matic, GLE 450 4Matic, AMG GLE 53 4Matic+.

Here's the short version:

• GLE 350 4Matic: This is the best-value starting point if you want the GLE’s luxury feel, standard all-wheel drive and strong cabin quality without chasing the pricier performance models.
• GLE 450 4Matic: This is the trim to target if you want a stronger all-round balance of power and refinement, especially if you value the model’s smooth, quiet character.
• AMG GLE 53 4Matic+: Choose this if you want the most performance-focused version in the standard gas lineup and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is broad, but several driver-assistance features remain optional rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 260 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.71% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $67,509 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $67,647 CAD sits slightly below last year's $80,253 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more competition when it is time to trade in or list the vehicle. If prices stabilise, today’s lower entry point could help support demand from shoppers looking for a luxury SUV with a softer used price.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• A subtle 2024 refresh keeps this version competitive with strong cabin quality and top-rate technology.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $60,330 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $67,647 CAD average.
• It offers a distinctive SUV-coupe shape that still keeps the GLE’s practical foundation.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-round used-market balance, the 2023 is the better primary pick because it combines a softer price trend with strong satisfaction and broad appeal. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2022 is the better secondary path.
