Used 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale nearLondon, ON

How much does the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have softened 10.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 162 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 4/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating, which lines up with its upscale feel and strong driving character. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

It is presented as a compact car that delivers luxury-level performance and cabin quality without a luxury-car price, and the hatchback adds SUV-like versatility through extra cargo space and a rear liftgate. The trade-offs are clear: the infotainment system is frustrating to use, and the hatchback’s rear visibility is compromised by a massive C-pillar.

If you want a small car that feels more polished than most mainstream rivals, this one fits that brief well. The 31.5% share of good or great deals also suggests there are worthwhile listings to chase.

Is the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 is framed as a refined, well-built compact car that punches above its weight in cabin quality and driving feel. Its performance character is described as communicative and engaging, with sharp handling and a comfortable ride that still works for the daily commute.

The base 2.0-litre engine and the available 2.5-litre and turbocharged engines give you a broad spread of choices, and the turbo model can run on regular fuel or premium fuel for more output. That flexibility helps, but the most important long-term ownership risk for used buyers is choosing a trim that matches your tolerance for the car’s frustrating technology and visibility compromises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GX is the simplest version, with 16-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, pushbutton start, keyless entry, two USB ports, and an 8.8-inch display. The GS adds dual-zone automatic climate control and a heated steering wheel, while the Luxury package brings synthetic leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a moonroof. The GT adds 18-inch alloy wheels, paddle shifters, a head-up display, navigation, and genuine leather upholstery.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque, a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated engine with 191 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, or a turbocharged 2.5-litre with 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on regular fuel or 250 hp and 320 lb-ft on premium fuel. Manual transmission availability varies by trim and body style, and AWD is available on some versions.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The GS adds forward automatic emergency braking, automatic cruise control, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The GT adds adaptive headlights, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a 360-degree parking camera system.
• Infotainment: You get an 8.8-inch display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, two USB ports, HD radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and voice control. The system is not a touchscreen, and the interface can be frustrating to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The non-turbo 2.5-litre is rated from 8.6 to 9.0 L/100 km in city driving, 6.4 to 7.0 on the highway, and 7.6 to 8.1 combined. The turbo hatchback averages 10.1 L/100 km in city driving, 7.5 on the highway, and 8.9 combined.

Which 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 4 trim levels: GX, GS, GT, and GT Turbo.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Mazda3 experience with heated front seats, pushbutton start, keyless entry, and the 8.8-inch display. It makes sense if you want the styling and driving feel without stretching the budget.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful comfort and safety upgrades, especially when paired with the Luxury package. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, start here.
• GT: This is the trim to target if you want a more premium feel, with leather upholstery, a head-up display, navigation, and extra safety tech. It suits you if you want the Mazda3 to feel fully loaded without going to the turbo model.
• GT Turbo: This is the performance-focused choice, with the more powerful turbocharged engine and standard AWD. Pick it if driving enjoyment matters most and you want the strongest acceleration in the lineup.

The GS is the trim where the safety package becomes much more complete, while the GT adds the most advanced driver-assistance features.

What is the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $25,244 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,275 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations. The Mazda3’s strong appeal as a refined compact car should help support demand, especially for well-equipped trims.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and five-star ratings in its front crash tests and rollover test from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The GS adds forward automatic emergency braking, automatic cruise control, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The GT adds adaptive headlights, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a 360-degree parking camera system.

The main caveat is the hatchback’s massive C-pillar, which creates a serious blind spot, and the infotainment layout can also distract you while driving.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It pairs upscale cabin quality with sharp, refined handling and useful hatchback versatility.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,919 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $25,244 CAD average.
• It offers strong value, stylish design, and a fun-to-drive character.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $26,624 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $25,244 CAD average.
• It brings a broader mix of body styles, drivetrains, and engines.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, refinement, and driving enjoyment, the 2023 is the one to focus on. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the smarter value play; if you want more configuration flexibility and are willing to pay more, the 2024 is worth a look.
