Used 2023 Kia Forte for Sale nearRichmond Hill, ON

How much does the 2023 Kia Forte cost?

Prices have softened 10.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 404 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Forte earns a 4.57/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, impressive fuel economy, and comfortable ride. They also describe it as reliable and fun to drive, with safety features that add confidence in daily use.

The main trade-offs are that it can feel a bit cheap inside, especially in the trunk area, and the base engine is underwhelming. It is still a strong fit if you want an affordable compact sedan that feels like a complete package rather than a stripped-down commuter.

With a 30.0% good-or-great deal rate, the market still offers some room for value-focused shoppers.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels reliable, dependable, and trouble-free enough to inspire confidence over time. The expert evaluation also supports that impression by describing it as a solid, well-rounded choice that gives you more for the money without forcing major compromises.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that lower-than-average crash test performance and a basic powertrain may matter more as the car ages and your needs change.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Forte?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX is the most affordable way in, but it misses a lot of the driver-assistance equipment that appears higher up the range. The EX adds the features many shoppers will want, while the GT-Line and GT Limited bring more visual flair and extra equipment.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a CVT in the mainstream trims, while the GT Limited uses a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The base setup is adequate, but the turbo model is the one for stronger acceleration and a more engaging drive.
• Safety package: Kia’s Highway Driving Assist appears on the GT-Line and GT Limited, while the EX trim adds forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, a tire pressure monitoring system, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Base trims leave most of those features off.
• Infotainment: Supporting trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while the GT-Line and GT Limited upgrade to a 10.25-inch display with onboard navigation. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Kia Connect becomes available beginning at the EX Premium trim.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.0-litre engine is rated at 8.2 L/100 km in city driving, 6.0 L/100 km on the highway, and 7.2 L/100 km combined. The GT Limited rises to 8.7 L/100 km city, 6.6 L/100 km highway, and 7.8 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 Kia Forte trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Forte is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, EX Premium, GT-Line, GT Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point if your priority is keeping the purchase price down, but you give up much of the safety and convenience equipment that makes the Forte feel more complete.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the key driver-assistance features and still keeps the Forte affordable.
• EX Premium: Choose this if you want the EX equipment plus added convenience and the available advanced forward collision assist warning and adaptive cruise control.
• GT-Line: This is the better pick if you want the larger 10.25-inch display, onboard navigation, and Kia’s Highway Driving Assist.
• GT Limited: This is the choice for the strongest performance, with the turbocharged engine, sport-tuned suspension, premium audio, and the most upscale equipment.

The safety-package trim note is simple: most driver-assistance features start at the EX trim, not the base LX.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Forte?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 404 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.91% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,329 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Forte's resale value?

The current average of $20,522 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,035 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Forte has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier for a future seller to attract interest if the car is priced competitively. The softer market also means resale value may depend more on trim, condition, and equipment than on the badge alone.

Because the Forte has strong owner satisfaction and a reputation for value, well-kept examples should continue to draw attention from budget-conscious shoppers. That helps support demand over time, even if the broader market remains price-sensitive.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte safe?

The 2023 Kia Forte was awarded four out of five stars for overall, frontal, side, and rollover protection from NHTSA, and the IIHS gave it its highest score of "Good" in all evaluations except the updated front moderate overlap and side impact tests, which received "Poor".

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia’s driver-assistance suite starts with forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, a tire pressure monitoring system, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert on the EX trim. Kia’s Highway Driving Assist appears on the GT-Line and GT Limited, while the EX Premium adds an advanced forward collision assist warning and adaptive cruise control.

The main caveat is that some base forward collision avoidance features do not meet the Administration’s performance criteria, and the crash-test results are weaker than average.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Forte or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Forte formula of strong value, comfort, and everyday usability while offering a manual transmission option and a well-rounded compact-sedan package.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,390 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,522 CAD average.
• It was updated with sharper styling and new infotainment, driver assist, and collision avoidance systems.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced buy, the 2023 is the safer pick because it combines softer pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and a broad mix of trims and equipment. If your main goal is to spend less up front, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still brings a lot of the Forte’s core value.
