Used 2022 Kia Forte for Sale nearRichmond Hill, ON

How much does the 2022 Kia Forte cost?

Prices have softened 12.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 399 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Kia Forte a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Forte earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

It stands out as a compact sedan that gives you a lot of modern equipment for the money, with sharper styling, updated infotainment, and added driver-assist and collision-avoidance tech for 2022. It is also described as spacious, which helps if you want a small car that still works well for daily family use or commuting.

The main trade-offs are an underwhelming base engine and a noisy cabin, especially in harder driving. Even so, the Forte remains appealing if you want excellent value and a feature-rich compact sedan.

31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which is a healthy sign for shoppers comparing options.

Is the 2022 Kia Forte reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Forte is positioned as a value-focused compact sedan with a strong equipment list, and Kia backs it with a five-year/100,000-kilometre standard warranty and a five-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty. The expert review also describes the car as easy to live with and well suited to daily use, especially in GT Limited form.

Kia Canada also includes a one-year complimentary trial subscription to Kia Connect Ultimate services on selected models, which adds some ownership value. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the lower-rated crash performance and the less refined base powertrain may matter more as the car ages.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Forte?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the bare-bones choice and comes without standard safety technology, while higher trims add more equipment and a more complete feature set. The GT-Line adds a sporty look without sporty driving characteristics, and the GT Limited is the most fun version.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. The LX gets a six-speed manual standard, while the CVT is optional on LX and standard elsewhere. The GT Limited uses a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
• Safety package: The rest of the trim levels include forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver monitoring system. Depending on trim, you can also get adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: EX Premium or lower trims get an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. GT-Line and GT Limited move to a 10.25-inch touchscreen, but CarPlay and Android Auto require a cable. Higher trims also add SiriusXM, voice recognition, Kia Connect connected services, and remote engine starting.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-litre engine is rated at 7.6 L/100 km with the manual transmission and 7.0 L/100 km with the CVT.

Which 2022 Kia Forte trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Forte is offered in 6 trim levels: LX, EX, EX+, EX Premium, GT-Line, and GT Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it is the most stripped-down version and lacks standard safety technology. It makes sense only if your priority is the lowest possible price.
• EX: This is a better everyday choice because it moves you into a more complete equipment mix without jumping to the sportier trims.
• EX+: This is the version that gives you everything you need, and nothing you don’t, making it the best-value pick for many shoppers.
• EX Premium: Choose this if wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto matter to you, since it gets the 8-inch touchscreen with that feature.
• GT-Line: This trim adds a sportier look, but not sporty driving characteristics, so it suits you if style matters more than performance.
• GT Limited: This is the most desirable trim if you want the strongest driving experience, the most exclusive features, and the best overall blend of power and sophistication.

The safety package starts on the non-LX trims, so if safety tech matters to you, avoid the base model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Forte?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 399 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.43% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,390 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Forte's resale value?

The current average of $18,390 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,000 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Forte is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly. If you own one, especially a higher-trim example, you may need to price it competitively to stand out against the many alternatives in the compact-sedan segment.

The good news for future resale is that the Forte’s value proposition is still strong: it offers lots of equipment, useful space, and broad appeal. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Forte safe?

The 2022 Kia Forte earns a four-star overall crash protection rating from NHTSA, and the IIHS gives its crashworthiness and driving assist systems high marks.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite on non-LX trims includes forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver monitoring system. Depending on trim, you can also get adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and Highway Driving Assist.

The main caveat is that the bare-bones LX comes without standard safety technology, and the NHTSA result is held back by a three-star frontal impact rating for the front passenger and a side-impact concern involving rear passenger injury potential. IIHS testing is also incomplete until revised LED headlights are assessed.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Forte or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year: it adds sharper styling plus updated infotainment and driver-assist tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,522 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $18,390 CAD average.
• It offers more value without feeling stripped down.

The 2022 is the better pick if you want the lower price and the updated equipment package. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer model-year alternative with a similarly value-focused personality, the 2023 is worth a look.
