How much does the 2023 Jeep Gladiator cost?

Prices have softened 17.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 173 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Jeep Gladiator earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, off-road capability, and the way it blends ruggedness with technology. The Gladiator also stands out for its distinctive identity and open-air character, which makes it appealing if you want something less conventional than a typical midsize pickup.

The trade-offs are clear: it is noisy, expensive, and not especially fuel-efficient. That makes it a better fit if you value personality, utility, and trail ability more than refinement or bargain pricing.

With 26.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with many drivers describing the Gladiator as a vehicle they enjoy living with over time. The review summary also highlights its smooth ride and rugged character, which can support confidence if you plan to keep it for the long haul.

The powertrain is described as punchy at low speeds and well suited to the truck’s intended use, which helps reinforce its durable, work-ready personality. Jeep also offers a maintenance perk on the first scheduled visit.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Gladiator’s specialised hardware and higher running costs can make ownership less forgiving if you want a simple, low-stress truck.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Gladiator?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with the Sport S and rises through Willys, Overland, Rubicon, Mojave, and High Altitude. The base trim is light on equipment, while higher trims add more capability and convenience. The Mojave is the standout if you want the most specialised high-speed off-road hardware.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.6-litre V6 with 285 horsepower, plus an available 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 that improves fuel economy. The standard setup is tuned for strong low-speed response, but passing power is only adequate.
• Safety package: The available Safety Group adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. The Advanced Safety Group adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlights. Lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assistance are not offered.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB connectivity, and an eight-speaker stereo. Higher trims can get an 8.4-inch touchscreen with navigation, connected services, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a nine-speaker Alpine premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The optional EcoDiesel turbodiesel returns 9.8 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving. The gas V6 is rated at 12.3 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 13.6 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Jeep Gladiator trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Gladiator is offered in 6 trim levels: Sport S, Willys, Overland, Rubicon, Mojave, and High Altitude.

Here's the short version:

• Sport S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Gladiator’s core personality at the lowest starting price. It is the least expensive way to get into the lineup, but you will miss some of the more appealing equipment found higher up.
• Willys: This is the best-value trim if you want a stronger mix of equipment and capability without jumping to the pricier off-road-focused models. It benefits from added standard equipment for 2023 and keeps the Gladiator’s rugged appeal intact.
• Overland: Choose this if you want a more comfort-oriented Gladiator with a broader feature set than the lower trims. It suits you best if you like the truck’s character but do not need the most specialised off-road hardware.
• Rubicon: This is the trim to target if off-road ability is your priority. It gets the more serious 4WD hardware and a locking front differential, making it the most trail-focused choice for many buyers.
• Mojave: Pick this if you want the most specialised high-speed desert-running setup. Its suspension hardware, locking rear differential, and off-road-focused equipment make it the standout for aggressive terrain use.
• High Altitude: This is the upscale choice, adding more premium equipment and the available Capability Package with a winch-capable steel front bumper, steel rock rails, and a front off-road camera system.

The Safety Group is a worthwhile add-on, and the Advanced Safety Group is the trim-level safety package to look for if you want the most complete driver-assistance setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Gladiator?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 173 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.05% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $44,298 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator's resale value?

The current average of $44,298 CAD sits slightly below last year's $53,401 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can put pressure on future resale values if supply stays healthy. If you own one, you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially against shoppers who are comparing it with more conventional midsize trucks.

At the same time, the Gladiator’s uniqueness helps support demand. Buyers who specifically want its open-air design, off-road character, and utility are often willing to pay for the right example.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator safe?

The Jeep Gladiator earns a three-star rollover resistance rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) says its headlights are Marginal at best.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The available Safety Group adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. The Advanced Safety Group builds on that with adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlights.

A key caveat is that lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assistance are not offered. That means you should pay close attention to which safety package a used example has, because the base truck is light on standard driver-assistance tech.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Gladiator or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines Wrangler-like character with open-bed utility and strong towing and payload capability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $53,153 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $44,298 CAD average.
• It adds minor styling revisions and next-generation infotainment technology.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter buy because prices have eased and owner satisfaction is strong. If you want newer tech and can stretch your budget, the 2024 is the more updated choice.
