Used 2023 Jeep Compass for Sale nearGuelph, ON

How much does the 2023 Jeep Compass cost?

Prices have softened 15.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 437 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable range of used examples to compare.

Is the 2023 Jeep Compass a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Jeep Compass earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners commonly praise the stylish design, upgraded interior, and improved safety features. The larger touchscreen and advanced technology also come up repeatedly as reasons the Compass feels more user-friendly and more luxurious.

The trade-offs are clear, though: the powertrain still leaves some drivers wanting more acceleration and passing power, and the expert review points to poor value for the money, poor visibility, and a cramped back seat. If you want a compact SUV with a more upscale feel and stronger tech than older Compass models, this year’s version fits that brief better than before.

Good and great deals account for 32.5% of listings, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Jeep Compass reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that many people find solid and dependable enough for everyday use, with the upgraded interior and improved safety features helping confidence over time. The expert review reinforces that this year’s Compass is better sorted than earlier versions, especially thanks to the new powertrain and smoother operation.

Jeep’s improvements should help reduce some of the long-running frustrations associated with older Compass models, but used buyers should still watch for signs of hard use and make sure the vehicle has been maintained properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Compass?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with Sport, which gets the new 17-inch wheel design for this year, but it is also the trim most likely to miss some of the nicer equipment found higher up. North adds more content, while Limited brings the more upscale look and feel that makes the cabin seem less inexpensive. Trailhawk is the one aimed at off-the-beaten-path use, and Trailhawk Elite sits at the top of the range.
• Powertrain: Every 2023 Compass uses a new turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with a new eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The engine is quieter, smoother, and more refined than before, but it is tuned more for efficiency than outright punch.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go come in at North trim, while automatic high-beam headlights are not on the base Sport.
• Infotainment: Every Compass gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth for two devices, SiriusXM satellite radio, SiriusXM Guardian connected services with Wi-Fi access, and over-the-air updates. A 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, embedded navigation, a nine-speaker Alpine sound system, and Alexa Built-in are available depending on trim and configuration.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada combined rating is 8.8 litres per 100 kilometres, and the test vehicle averaged 9.9 L/100 km in mixed driving.

Which 2023 Jeep Compass trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Compass is offered in 7 trim levels: Sport, North, Altitude, Trailhawk, Limited, (Red) Edition, and Trailhawk Elite.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Compass formula with the new turbo engine, standard all-wheel drive, and the updated infotainment system. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the model, but it is also the trim most likely to feel stripped compared with the better-equipped versions.
• North: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds important safety equipment, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go. If you want the most balanced mix of equipment and price, start here.
• Altitude: Choose this if you care more about appearance and a more upscale presentation than about the most rugged capability. It builds on the lower trims with a more distinctive look.
• Trailhawk: This is the one to buy if you want the Compass’s most serious off-road character. It adds the low-range AWD system, Rock mode, hill descent control, more aggressive tyres, skid plates, recovery hooks, and extra ground clearance.
• Limited: This is the trim that best shows off the Compass’s more refined side, with the upscale cabin materials and the richer look and feel that make the interior seem less basic. It suits you if you want the most polished everyday experience.
• (Red) Edition: This is for shoppers who want a more distinctive special-edition presentation rather than a pure value play.
• Trailhawk Elite: This is the most feature-rich off-road-oriented version, combining the Trailhawk hardware with a more premium equipment set.

Automatic high-beam headlights are not standard on the base Sport trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Compass?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find decent opportunities.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 437 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,277 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Compass's resale value?

The current average of $27,413 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,321 CAD.

That price drop suggests the Compass has moved into a more buyer-friendly part of the market, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the earlier average.

The model’s stronger owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially for well-equipped examples with the newer powertrain and desirable safety features. Even so, resale will likely depend heavily on trim, condition, and whether the vehicle feels like good value relative to alternatives when you decide to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Compass safe?

The 2023 Jeep Compass earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard advanced driver-assistance features include forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, drowsy driver detection, and a rear-seat reminder system. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go are included starting at North trim, while automatic high-beam headlights are not on the base Sport.

The expert review also notes that the lane-keeping inputs can feel too obvious and that adaptive cruise control is not especially smooth in braking or maintaining distance. Crash-test results were not published in the review at the time, so you should check the latest ratings before buying.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Compass or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The new turbocharged engine, standard all-wheel drive, and added safety features make this year a major step forward.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $23,833 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,413 CAD average.
• It offers a more premium-feeling compact SUV with Jeep’s off-road identity.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $28,205 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $27,413 CAD average.
• It brings strong value at the entry level with useful tech and impressive safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the biggest improvement over older Compass models, the 2023 is the smarter pick. Price-sensitive buyers should also compare the 2022, while shoppers focused on newer-market value may find the 2024 worth the extra money if the right listing appears.
