The 2023 Sonata’s appeal comes from its well-equipped, comfort-focused design and its broad range of standard features, which can make day-to-day ownership feel straightforward and satisfying. What is the 2023 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $23,587 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,799 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive level today, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the Sonata’s value will likely depend on how well it holds demand against other midsize sedans and how clean the vehicle’s history is. Strong equipment and broad appeal can help support interest when it’s time to list.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,517 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $23,587 CAD average.
• It offers strong value and quality in the midsize-sedan class.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2022 is the better price-sensitive alternative.
