Hyundai’s five-year/100,000-kilometre new vehicle limited warranty, including the powertrain, is a useful ownership advantage. What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Hyundai Palisade?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Preferred starts with cloth seats, a single sunroof, and an eight-way power driver’s seat with two-way lumbar support, while Urban adds leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Ultimate Calligraphy brings premium Nappa leather, a dual-pane sunroof, ventilated rear seats, captain’s chairs, and more upscale exterior detailing, so it is the trim that feels most premium.
• Powertrain: You get a single 3.8-litre V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. It is strong for the class and can tow up to 2,268 kilograms.
• Safety package: Hyundai Smart Sense is standard and includes forward collision avoidance, driver attention warning, high beam assist, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, safe exit warning, and rear seat occupant alert. Highway Driving Assist I is standard on Urban, while Highway Driving Assist II is standard on Ultimate Calligraphy.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch colour touchscreen is standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth. Wireless charging is standard on Ultimate Calligraphy, and the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is standard on Urban and Ultimate Calligraphy.
• Fuel efficiency: The Palisade consumes 12.6 L/100 km in city driving, 9.5 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.2 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 Hyundai Palisade trim should I buy?

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Urban, and Ultimate Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Palisade’s core strengths without stretching to a higher price. You still get the standard safety suite, the 12.3-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, heated second-row seats, and the full-size family-SUV layout.
• Urban: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds ventilated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, the premium Harman Kardon audio system, and Highway Driving Assist I. If you want the most meaningful upgrades without going all the way to the top trim, this is the one to target.
• Ultimate Calligraphy: This is the luxury-leaning pick, with Nappa leather, a dual-pane sunroof, ventilated rear seats, captain’s chairs, a head-up display, Highway Driving Assist II, and more distinctive exterior and interior detailing. Choose it if you want the most upscale Palisade experience.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, with additional driver-assistance features added as you move up the trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Palisade?

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 366 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.73% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $39,956 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Hyundai Palisade's resale value?

The current average of $39,956 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,312 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you own one and plan to sell later, the current trend implies you should expect more pressure on asking prices than a year ago. Strong equipment, a premium feel, and broad family appeal should still help support demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Palisade or consider a different year?

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a facelift plus more standard and optional tech and safety features.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $32,745 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $39,956 CAD average.
• It is a spacious, attractive three-row crossover SUV aimed squarely at family use.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $43,526 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $39,956 CAD average.
• It offers a distinctive design, upscale materials, and thoughtful amenities after the refresh.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around choice if you want the refreshed look and stronger feature set without paying the 2024 premium.
