How much does the 2023 Honda Ridgeline cost?

Prices have softened 11.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2023 Honda Ridgeline a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Honda Ridgeline earns 4.38/5 from owners and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its comfort, smooth ride, versatility, useful storage space, and modern safety features. It is especially appealing if you want a midsize truck that works well as a daily driver and fits everyday life better than a traditional pickup.

The trade-offs are clear: the technology feels outdated, and it is not as capable as some rivals off-road or when towing. That makes it best for you if practicality, refinement, and easygoing use matter more than hard-core truck credentials.

With 35.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Honda Ridgeline reliable?

Owners rate it 4.38/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with comfort and versatility reinforcing the sense that this is a truck you can count on day to day. The expert assessment also describes it as a sensible, practical choice for buyers who want something easy to live with over the long term.

It also benefits from a strong cost-effectiveness score, which supports the case for steady ownership rather than frequent repair-driven turnover. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is more about ageing technology than mechanical dependability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Honda Ridgeline?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Sport is the base model in Canada, while EX-L, Touring, and Black Edition add more equipment and a more upscale feel. The base trim gets the core truck hardware, but the higher trims are where you find the more premium features and the most complete experience.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. It is tuned for refined on-road driving, but you should not expect serious off-road hardware or maximum towing strength.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard in Canada.
• Infotainment: The 8-inch touchscreen is standard, along with Bluetooth, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and basic HondaLink services. SiriusXM appears at EX-L, while Touring and Black Edition add navigation, premium audio, and cargo bed speakers.
• Fuel efficiency: The Ridgeline averaged 10.4 L/100 km on a road trip, and its official ratings are 11.5 L/100 km combined and 9.9 L/100 km on the highway.

Which 2023 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?

The 2023 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the best-value choice if you want the Ridgeline’s core strengths without paying for extras you may not need. You still get the V6, all-wheel drive, Honda Sensing, and the practical everyday character that defines the truck.
• EX-L: This is the trim to target if you want a more comfortable and better-equipped cabin without jumping too far up the price ladder. It adds useful convenience and is the point where SiriusXM appears.
• Touring: Choose this if you want the more premium tech and convenience upgrades, including navigation, premium audio, and cargo bed speakers.
• Black Edition: This is the most upscale version, with the richest presentation and the most complete feature set. It suits you if you want the Ridgeline to feel as polished as possible.

Honda Sensing is standard across the range, so you do not need to move up a trim for the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Honda Ridgeline?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 103 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.08% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $43,918 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?

The current average of $43,945 CAD sits slightly below last year's $49,423 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Ridgeline has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market. If you buy now, you are entering at a lower price point than owners saw a year ago, which can help cushion depreciation from here.

For resale, the Ridgeline’s appeal should remain tied to its comfort, practicality, and broad everyday usefulness. Trucks with strong owner satisfaction tend to hold buyer interest better, especially when they offer a distinctive mix of utility and refinement.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.38/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Honda Ridgeline safe?

The 2023 Ridgeline earns mostly favourable crash-test and safety ratings from IIHS, and it gets top marks in all crash tests from NHTSA, plus a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard in Canada.

The main caveat is that the driver-assistance systems are not as smooth or refined as the latest Honda setups, and the adaptive cruise control can be a bit inconsistent in maintaining distance.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.38/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It delivers strong practicality, comfort, and safety without needing maximum truck capability.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $40,508 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $43,945 CAD average.
• It carries over unchanged and focuses on quiet comfort and everyday refinement.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $47,630 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $43,945 CAD average.
• It adds a TrailSport trim and interior tech updates for more appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and everyday usefulness, the 2023 is the sweet spot. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the value play; if you want newer features and can spend more, the 2024 is the upgrade path.
