What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Hybrid Touring is the only hybrid trim, and it brings the most premium cabin feel, 19-inch wheels, and the more upscale equipment set. You should also note that the model’s standard safety and convenience content is already extensive, so the main question is whether the top-trim pricing fits your budget.
• Powertrain: The hybrid pairs a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. It uses a CVT, has selectable drive modes including Snow, and is tuned for responsive everyday driving and improved efficiency.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard, along with adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, road-departure mitigation, lane-keeping assist, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, low-speed braking control, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic monitor, front and rear parking sensors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and rear-seat reminders. Some trims marked with a B shipped without blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic monitor because of parts shortages.
• Infotainment: The Hybrid Touring gets a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wi-Fi capability, a wireless charging pad, SiriusXM, HD radio, and a 12-speaker Bose Premium audio system. It also adds Honda’s smart navigation system.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is estimated at 6.0 L/100 km in city driving, 6.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 6.4 combined.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It is the first Canadian CR-V Hybrid and comes only as the well-equipped Hybrid Touring.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $39,568 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $37,564 CAD average.
• A lower-priced EX-L Hybrid trim adds a more affordable entry point.

The bottom line: If you want the best current value on the hybrid CR-V, the 2023 is the smarter buy because pricing has eased and the equipment list is already strong. If you are shopping for a broader trim ladder and want a lower-cost hybrid entry point, the 2024 is worth a look.
