Used 2023 Honda CR-V for Sale nearGrande Prairie, AB

How much does the 2023 Honda CR-V cost?

Prices have softened 9.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 925 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Honda CR-V earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, quality interior, and great features, and they also like its safety and economy. The CR-V’s roomy cabin and plenty of cargo space make it especially appealing if you want an easy-to-live-with compact SUV for daily use and family duty. The redesigned model also brings updated infotainment and safety features, plus a hybrid powertrain in Canada for the first time.

The trade-offs are the irritating transmission, uninspired styling, and lack of technological innovation. Even so, the market still shows 27.5% good or great deals, which points to decent shopping opportunities if you compare listings carefully.

Is the 2023 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers’ feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the CR-V’s smooth ride, quality interior, and overall ease of living with it. The expert review also describes the CR-V as a refined, well-executed SUV that should hold up well in everyday use, with strong ride-and-handling balance and a practical, durable-feeling cabin.

Honda’s efficiency and refinement help support confidence in long-term ownership, and the model’s broad appeal should make it easy to live with over time. For used buyers, the main risk is paying more than you need to for a higher-trim example if you do not actually need the extra equipment.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Honda CR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The EX-L adds a larger touchscreen, leather-wrapped touch points, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power rear liftgate, and front and rear parking sensors. Lower grades use cloth upholstery and a smaller touchscreen, while some Canadian B trims omit blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Powertrain: Gas-only models use a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque, paired with a CVT and front- or all-wheel drive. The CVT is the main drivability compromise, especially under hard acceleration.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a seatbelt reminder system, a rear-seat reminder system, a driver monitoring system, traffic sign recognition, and Traffic Jam Assist. Some B trims omit blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Most trims get a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The EX-L upgrades to a 9-inch display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless charging, and an upgraded eight-speaker sound system. The top Touring Hybrid is needed for a Bose premium sound system and navigation with real-time traffic.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the test vehicle should see 8.4 L/100 km in combined driving, and the review vehicle averaged 8.1 L/100 km on a mountainous route.

Which 2023 Honda CR-V trim should I buy?

The 2023 Honda CR-V is offered in 4 trim levels: LX-B, Sport, EX-L, Touring Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• LX-B: This is the entry point, but some Canadian B trims omit blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, so you should check the exact equipment list carefully if safety tech matters to you.
• Sport: This trim sits above the base model and is the better choice if you want a more complete feature set without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the larger 9-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, and several comfort upgrades that make daily use easier.
• Touring Hybrid: Choose this if you want the most equipment and are willing to pay for the top-of-the-line hybrid setup, including the premium audio and navigation features.

Honda’s safety package is broadly strong across the lineup, but you should confirm whether a specific Canadian B trim includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Honda CR-V?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers who are willing to compare listings and move quickly on the right example.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 925 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,411 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $32,411 CAD sits slightly below last year's $36,008 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward from the prior year, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right number today. If you pay close to the current average, you may have less room for appreciation later, so condition, trim, and mileage will matter a lot when it comes time to resell. Well-equipped examples with the features buyers want should remain easier to move than stripped-down or poorly optioned ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Honda CR-V safe?

The 2023 Honda CR-V earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a seatbelt reminder system, a rear-seat reminder system, a driver monitoring system, traffic sign recognition, and Traffic Jam Assist.

Some Canadian B trims omit blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, so you should verify the exact equipment on any used example you are considering. The lane-centring assist can also feel uncertain in some highway situations, so it is worth testing on your own drive.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model year brings a redesigned cabin, updated infotainment, stronger safety tech, and the first Canadian availability of the hybrid powertrain.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned CR-V with the latest equipment and a strong mix of comfort, space, and safety, the 2023 is the right place to start. If your priority is stretching your budget, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-priced example with the equipment you actually need.
