How much does the 2023 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 8.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,994 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Ford F-150 earns a 4.94/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, smooth ride, and modern features like the large touchscreen and advanced safety tech. The review summary also points to strong capability and a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience that many drivers feel confident counting on over the long term.

From the expert side, the truck’s appeal is tied to its class-leading towing and payload, impressive technology, and broad configuration range. The trade-offs are that fuel economy can be poor with the 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6, the ride can be rough when unloaded, and some interior materials feel cheap.

It also sits in a market where 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, trouble-free, and easy to count on over time. That kind of confidence matters in a used pickup, especially if you plan to keep it for years and use it regularly.

The expert evaluation also supports that impression by describing the truck as structurally solid, with secure handling and stout brakes. The 10-speed automatic is described as consistently choosing the right gear without delay, which adds to the sense of mechanical competence.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific truck you choose has been maintained properly and matches your needs, since configuration and equipment vary widely.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford F-150?

Key things to evaluate:

Which 2023 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford F-150 is offered in 8 trim levels: XL, XLT, XLT Heritage Edition, Lariat, Tremor, King Ranch, Platinum, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and plan to keep the truck simple.
• XLT: This is the best-value choice for most buyers because it adds the core tech and everyday usability that make the F-150 feel modern, including Sync 4 with a 12-inch touchscreen and wireless smartphone integration.
• XLT Heritage Edition: Choose this if you want the XLT’s value with a more distinctive look and special interior details.
• Lariat: This is the trim to consider if you want a more upscale feel and the option to add adaptive damping suspension.
• Tremor: Pick this if you want a more capable off-road-oriented setup without jumping all the way to the Raptor family.
• King Ranch: This suits buyers who want a more premium, luxury-leaning truck and are willing to pay for it.
• Platinum: This is for shoppers who want a high-end F-150 with a more polished presentation and extensive equipment.
• Raptor: This is the performance truck in the lineup, and the Raptor R is the most specialised version with the supercharged V8 and off-road hardware.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford F-150?

The market looks moderate for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop around and some room to negotiate.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,994 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.47% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $50,465 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $50,465 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,134 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has become a little more buyer-friendly, which can help future resale by keeping demand active. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

The broad appeal of the F-150 also helps support resale strength, especially for well-equipped trims and trucks with desirable capability features. Strong owner satisfaction ratings can keep used demand healthy, which is helpful when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2023 Ford F-150 SuperCrew earns high marks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and nothing but five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), coupled with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is the named driver-assistance suite, and it includes automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, automatic reverse braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centring assist, evasive steering assist, intersection assist for left turns, and speed-sign recognition.

The truck also has a post-collision braking system, plus a surround-view camera that is especially useful when parking. One caveat is that the lane-centring system can be a bit aggressive in some situations and may tug at the wheel more than you want.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds the Raptor R and the XLT Heritage Edition, giving you more variety in both performance and style.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $55,742 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $50,465 CAD average.
• It adds an updated BlueCruise system.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the better pick if you want stronger value and a wider spread of used listings to choose from. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer truck with updated convenience and hands-free driving tech, the 2024 is the better alternative.
