How much does the 2023 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 11.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 459 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Ford Bronco earns a 4.27/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, rugged design, comfort, and feature content. The Bronco also stands out for its adventurous character while still feeling usable on the highway, which fits buyers who want everyday drivability with real trail ability.

The trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and fuel economy is below average. Even so, the Bronco’s broad appeal comes from its mix of capability and practicality, and 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.27/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that owners feel good about living with over time, with repeated praise for its dependable off-road capability, comfort, and feature set. The Bronco’s performance also supports confidence in day-to-day use, with strong on-road manners for a rugged SUV and a cabin that is quieter than a comparable Wrangler.

Ford’s cost-effectiveness notes also highlight that the Bronco’s upgrades are covered by a factory warranty on the Raptor, which reinforces the brand’s support for the vehicle’s more specialised hardware. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher running costs and optional-feature gaps can make the Bronco less straightforward than a conventional SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim is the most bare-bones version, while higher trims add more comfort, capability, and distinctive styling. The Mid package is not available on the Base model, so feature gaps are most noticeable there.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 2.3-litre four-cylinder, a 2.7-litre V6, or a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 in the Raptor. The four-cylinder is described as more than adequate, while the V6 suits heavier four-door models and the Raptor is the most extreme option.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while the High and Luxe packages add more advanced features.
• Infotainment: Most Broncos come with an eight-inch touchscreen, while a 12-inch display is available and easier to use. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Ford SYNC 4, and FordPass Connect are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates the four-cylinder engine at as little as 11.6 L/100 km combined and as high as 14.3 L/100 km depending on equipment. The 2.7-litre V6 is rated between 12.0 and 14.1 L/100 km, while the Raptor is estimated at 15.3 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford Bronco is offered in 9 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Bronco Outer Banks, Bronco Badlands, Heritage Edition, Bronco Wildtrak, Heritage Limited Edition, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the most stripped-back Bronco, with steel wheels and a more primitive look. It suits you if you want the core Bronco experience at the lowest entry point, but it misses out on some of the convenience and safety-package upgrades available higher up.
• Big Bend: This is a sensible step up if you want a more rounded Bronco without jumping too far in price. It should appeal if you want a better balance of everyday usability and Bronco character.
• Black Diamond: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it represents a good middle ground and is the trim Ford’s own cost-effectiveness notes point to. It’s the one to target if you want stronger off-road intent without going all the way to the pricier specialist models.
• Bronco Outer Banks: This trim leans more toward style and comfort than the more rugged versions. It suits you if you want a more polished Bronco with a stronger on-road feel.
• Bronco Badlands: This is the more capability-focused choice for buyers who want a serious off-road setup. It makes sense if trail use matters more than comfort or price.
• Heritage Edition: This trim adds retro-inspired styling, including a white grille, roof, and wheels, plus unique plaid seat upholstery. It’s for you if the nostalgic look matters as much as the hardware.
• Bronco Wildtrak: This is a stronger choice if you want a more performance-oriented Bronco without going all the way to the Raptor. It suits buyers who want extra capability and presence.
• Heritage Limited Edition: This is the more capable, more exclusive take on the Heritage theme. It’s best if you want the nostalgic styling with a more premium feel.
• Raptor: This is the top-end, high-output Bronco with the 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 and the most extreme stance. It’s the one to buy if you want maximum capability and don’t mind paying for it.

The safety package is not standard across the lineup, and the Mid package is unavailable on the Base trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 459 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.72% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $49,310 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $49,310 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,856 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Bronco has moved into a more buyer-friendly phase, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract attention if they price competitively. The current trend also implies that buyers are still interested, but they have more room to compare listings and wait for the right example.

If demand stays steady, well-kept Broncos should remain relatively easy to move because the model still has strong appeal. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.27/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2023 Ford Bronco earns four-star ratings in frontal crash protection and rollover protection from NHTSA, and IIHS rates it Good in all crashworthiness tests except head restraints and seats, where it receives Acceptable.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while the High package adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system. The Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, and the Bronco’s crash-test results are only partial from NHTSA.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.27/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It combines nine trims with strong off-road ability and broad everyday appeal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $40,929 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $49,310 CAD average.
• It offers serious off-road ability with better pavement manners than many rivals.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $53,477 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $49,310 CAD average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment system for a more modern cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of value, choice, and current-market pricing, the 2023 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 is the better price-sensitive alternative, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer infotainment setup and can pay more.
