Used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearOttawa, ON

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 10.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 543 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating.

The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

It remains a sensible choice in a fiercely competitive compact crossover segment, and its easy-to-use technology, great ride quality, and strong value for money make it appealing if you want a straightforward, practical SUV. The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the transmission can be irritating, and road noise is a drawback.

36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is presented as a proven, practical compact crossover with subtle updates that improve polish without changing its basic formula. Its extra engine power and more sophisticated braking system help it feel a bit more refined, while the straightforward cabin layout supports easy day-to-day use.

The 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder is the sole powertrain, and the braking and suspension tuning are described as well sorted. Chevrolet also swapped in an electronically assisted brake-by-wire system for 2023, which is a net positive for smoothness and predictability.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that its ageing powertrain and noisy, less refined character may feel more dated as kilometres add up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS, LT, RS, and Premier each bring different equipment levels, and the base LS misses some comfort features that you may want. Heated front seats are standard on all trims, but the heated steering wheel is not available on the base LS.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic. It is adequate around town, but it can feel noisy and less eager at higher speeds.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.
• Infotainment: The LS, LT, and RS use a 7-inch touchscreen, while Premier gets an 8-inch unit. All trims get wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, plus Bluetooth and a Wi-Fi hotspot with an OnStar subscription.
• Fuel efficiency: AWD models should return 9.9 L/100 km in the city, 7.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 9.0 L/100 km combined. FWD models are rated at 8.9 city, 7.7 highway, and 8.4 combined.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the value-focused starting point, but it is the most basic version and misses some convenience features you may want. It still gives you the core Equinox formula, including standard heated front seats and the full safety-assist suite.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday comfort and convenience without jumping too far in price. It also unlocks the heated steering wheel, which is a useful upgrade for Canadian winters.
• RS: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look and a higher equipment level than the LT. It also gets the upgraded driver-information display and can be optioned with a Bose seven-speaker audio system.
• Premier: This is the most upscale choice, with the 8-inch touchscreen, standard heated steering wheel, and the most premium feel in the lineup. It is the trim to target if you want the most complete Equinox experience.

Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 543 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.59% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $24,866 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $24,912 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,863 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Equinox has softened enough to create a more buyer-friendly used market today. For a future seller, that means you may need to price competitively if you want to move the vehicle quickly.

The model's practical appeal and strong value proposition should still help it attract shoppers who want a simple, comfortable compact SUV. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Equinox includes a suite of standard safety assist and advanced driver assistance systems, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.

A key caveat is that the Equinox scored a Poor rating in the IIHS moderate overlap front crash test and a Marginal score in the side-impact crash test.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings extra engine power, a more sophisticated braking system, and three new paint colours.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,344 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $24,912 CAD average.
• It adds revised styling and a new RS trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced used buy, the 2023 is the stronger pick thanks to its updates and softer pricing. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 remains a sensible alternative.
