Used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearEdmonton, AB

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 10.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 551 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

It is a sensible compact crossover that leans into comfort and value rather than excitement. The ride quality stands out, the technology is easy to use, and it offers excellent value for money.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the transmission can be irritating, and the cabin can be noisy. That makes it a better fit if you want an easygoing, practical SUV for everyday use than if you want something sporty.

With 35.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value in the market.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Equinox is presented as a practical, value-focused compact crossover with a straightforward layout and a more sophisticated braking system for this model year. Its 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder is the sole powertrain, and the expert notes suggest it is adequate for city driving but not especially quick at higher speeds.

Chevrolet’s electronically assisted brake-by-wire system is a positive change, and the suspension is described as well-sorted over bumps and potholes. The six-speed automatic and the engine’s noise under acceleration are the main durability-and-ownership concerns you should keep in mind when shopping used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS, LT, RS, and Premier each bring different equipment levels, and the base LS misses some convenience features such as the heated steering wheel.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic; it is fine around town but not especially strong at higher speeds.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.
• Infotainment: The LS, LT, and RS use a 7-inch touchscreen, while Premier gets an 8-inch unit. All trims get wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, plus Bluetooth and a Wi-Fi hotspot with an OnStar subscription.
• Fuel efficiency: AWD models should return 9.9 L/100 km in the city, 7.9 on the highway, and 9.0 combined, while FWD models are rated at 8.9 city, 7.7 highway, and 8.4 combined.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Equinox experience at the lowest price. It is best if you want the model’s value and practicality without paying for extras, but you should note that some convenience features are reserved for higher trims.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds useful everyday equipment without pushing you into the top end of the range. It is a smart middle ground if you want more comfort and convenience than the LS.
• RS: This trim adds a sportier look and sits above the LT. It suits you if you want a more distinctive appearance and are willing to pay for it.
• Premier: This is the most upscale version, with the larger 8-inch touchscreen, standard heated steering wheel, and the most premium feel in the lineup. It is the right pick if you want the most features and the most polished version of the Equinox.

Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 551 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $24,731 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $24,732 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,611 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Equinox has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market. If you buy at today’s average, there is less room for appreciation, so resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, but it also scored a Poor rating in the IIHS moderate overlap front crash test and a Marginal score in the IIHS side-impact crash test.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.

The weak IIHS results are the main caution for used shoppers, especially if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds extra engine power, a more sophisticated braking system, and new paint colours.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,302 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $24,732 CAD average.
• It adds revised styling and wireless smartphone integration.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the better-updated version with stronger value signals and a more refined braking setup. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the better budget play and still brings useful modern features.
