Drivers consistently praise its performance, comfort, and styling, and the M440i is singled out for its fun driving experience and empowering features. Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with owners repeatedly highlighting comfort, performance, and an overall sense that it delivers what they expected. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it to feel solid over time, especially if you prioritise a polished driving experience.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright reliability and more about making sure the car has been maintained properly, since premium vehicles can be costly if deferred maintenance has been ignored.

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence if you know what you want.

What is the 2023 BMW 4 Series's resale value?

The current average of $49,874 CAD sits slightly below last year's $60,221 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you are planning to sell soon. If prices stay near this level, future sellers may need to be more competitive to stand out. The good news is that a model with strong owner satisfaction often keeps buyer interest healthier than one with mixed reviews.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the better pick if you want a distinctive luxury coupe or convertible with strong owner approval and a softer used-market price than last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years for the best combination of equipment and asking price, but the 2023 already looks attractive for shoppers who value style, comfort, and a premium driving feel.
