How much does the 2023 Acura RDX cost?

Prices have softened 9.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 221 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Acura RDX a good car?

The 2023 Acura RDX is a strong fit if you want a luxury SUV that feels upscale without pushing into top-tier pricing, though its technology can be frustrating to live with. It earns a user rating of 3/5 and an expert rating of 6.2/10.

The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

It stands out for strong performance, high levels of comfort, and a relatively affordable price for the class. The trade-off is that the infotainment interface is unintuitive, and the technology score reflects that weakness.

The RDX’s value proposition is strongest if you care more about the driving experience and comfort than about having the newest interface design. With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Acura RDX reliable?

The 2023 Acura RDX is presented as a well-rounded luxury SUV with strong performance and a comfortable ride, and its expert score supports that balanced character. Its powertrain is described as more than adequate for most drivers, with immediate throttle response and a transmission that does an excellent job selecting the right gear.

The drivetrain is also described as confidence-inspiring, with well-managed body roll and abundant traction from Acura’s advanced AWD system. The expert review also notes that the RDX’s systems worked as advertised, which is reassuring for day-to-day use.

The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the infotainment setup may remain the most frustrating part of the vehicle even if the mechanical package stays appealing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Acura RDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin uses a vertical layout with a 10.2-inch infotainment display, physical climate controls, and a digital centre display with analog gauges. The base setup is less modern than some rivals, so you should make sure the feature set matches your expectations before you buy.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. There is no alternative engine choice, and AWD is standard in Canada.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, rain-sensing wipers, and front and rear parking sensors. The Platinum Elite A-Spec package adds a surround-view camera system and a head-up display.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 10.2-inch display and a touchpad controller. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto help usability, and the system also includes Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, remote monitoring and control via the Acuralink smartphone app, and a 16-speaker ELS Studio premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates consumption at 11.3 L/100 km in the city, 9.1 L/100 km on the highway, and 10.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Acura RDX is offered in 2 trim levels: RDX A-Spec and Platinum Elite A-Spec.

Here's the short version:

• RDX A-Spec: This is the entry point, and it already gives you the core RDX formula: standard AWD, the 2.0-litre turbo engine, the 10-speed automatic, and the full safety suite. It is the trim to target if you want the best value and do not need the extra luxury features.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This trim adds adaptive dampers, a surround-view camera system, and a head-up display. It suits you if you want the most complete version of the RDX and are willing to pay more for the added convenience and equipment.

The Platinum Elite A-Spec package includes the surround-view camera system and head-up display.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Acura RDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 221 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,725 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $42,074 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,328 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also suggests the RDX may not hold its peak value as firmly as it did a year ago. If you plan to sell later, you should expect the market to remain sensitive to mileage, condition, and equipment level.

For a future seller, the current trend means you may need to price competitively to stand out. Well-equipped examples and clean service histories should still be easier to move than stripped or heavily used ones.

Is the 2023 Acura RDX safe?

The 2023 Acura RDX earns a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS and five-out-of-five stars for overall and side crash protection from NHTSA, as well as four stars for frontal and rollover protection.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard advanced safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, rain-sensing wipers, and front and rear parking sensors. The Platinum Elite A-Spec package adds a surround-view camera system and a head-up display.

The lane-keep assist can tug against your hands in gentle curves, so it may feel better suited to straight highway driving than to winding roads.

Should I buy a 2023 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.18% compared with last year.
• It offers strong performance, high comfort, and a relatively affordable luxury-SUV package.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,912 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $42,074 CAD average.
• It is a compact luxury SUV with standard AWD and a refreshed cabin.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the stronger value story and are comfortable paying more for the newer-year market. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the better path, especially if you find one in good condition with the equipment you want.
